Be careful as Fi wants the number you ported to be on this phone to get the $600 discount. They check nightly and they find out the number is on other phone then they will charge the $600 on your CC after 4 months. I got the Pixel 6 when it was for 399 and used the Fi SIM on my Essential PH1 and got a notification that Promo guidelines not met and they would charge the discounted amount to my CC.

Many of us got this deal not to keep GFi but to get the phone cheap accounting for the 4mo usage and terminating after that. Getting an unlocked S22+ for less than $500 total with no trade-in. No complications.

Leave the GFi sim in and use your regular service via the eSim as the primary since it comes unlocked. The Google Fi app shows the countdown timer to 120 days and them you port your number back to Google voice.

No need to make it unnecessarily complicated.

Unless you live in a State without tax and fee you will NEVER get $20 a month

More realistic is somewhere between $23- $26 which end up to $92 - $104

I mean you just activate the fi sim when you get it, make one call and remove it till end of promo. You do not have to have activity on the line. I ported a Google voice number to fi, activated it/used it a single time. Then I removed it out of my S21 and never used it again. I used my actual sim in the S21 during the entire promo timeline.
I did the same. Plus deleted Google Fi App after activation to be on the safe side.

Thank you. I feared this. Adding 80 bucks to this deal makes it a little less sweet
Taxes can be about $8 further for $20 plan

I have this deal... and my cortisol levels rise every time I use the phone.

The touchscreen sucks if you use tempered glass screen protectors, swiping on the keyboard sucks, updates sometimes make that not suck but then pecking seems to be inaccurate.

That plus the bloatware and tons of wasted space on the OS (Hello, let me put this GIANT CLOCK above your quick settings) not to mention things you can't customize (all the disabled apps show as quick access apps in the multitasking interface, make this a phone that I hate.

Oh, and it is purposefully designed for bad battery life, even if you use the batter saving features, and the fingerprint reader works maybe 80% of the time, and I've tried it with a plastic screen protector, no protector, and now tempered glass, and have re-done my fingerprints many times. It's a joke. Sometimes it's fine on the first try, other times my friend and I laugh as I try to unlock my phone.

A friend got one that has the same issues as mine. Seems like Samsung hates users as much as Apple these days.

If you're used to Samsung trash you might be okay with this and the grotesque busted assistant that is Bixby, but man, this made me want to use an iPhone. I can't believe how much better my roommates iPhone 12 Mini is. I can actually type on it and the voice dictation doesn't take a second per word and suck. I have a Pixel 6a now. It has issues but not NEARLY this many.

Purely to get Sd'ers recommendations, which one is a good one b/w s22 or s22+ or ultra (based on value for money). I wanted to get on the pixel line but until the tensor chips get matured, I am thinking to stick with Samsung

PS: After the SIM has been active for 120 days paid service, you are free to do whatever you want, with the SIM and/or the phone

No. The SIM cannot be used in any other phone. Once the SIM is activated, it can be removed from the phone, but not used in any other phone.

The phone can be used with any other carriers SIM. Would advise not to use it with any other Fi SIM though.

Explained multiple times throughout this thread.

It's been there for last few months. I don't think it's going anywhere...
This I feel is a good deal on Samsung but not great as they loose value the fastest and you can find them discounted but not as much as this so this fi deal...

I bought an Iphone 11 for trade in for this deal but then changed my mind because I know I won't be able to deal with bloatware that comes with Samsung phones..

Just my 2 cents..

Samsung S22 has worst screen resolution 2340x1080 than my current Galaxy s8. Sure it has a higher refresh rate but all this being cheap kind of makes it a no go for me. I'm looking to upgrade, not downgrade in some ways.

Yes, if your carrier supports e-SIM for this phone. Just remember not to take the Fi SIM out and use in another phone for 120 days.

Can anybody clarify if the Google Fi sim has to stay in for the 120 days? Obviously we don't want to use any data and run up the bill. Is there any other way to make sure you're not using the Google Fi line at all while still using your other SIM (T-Mobile in my case)?
