I have this fan and power recently went out for about 3 hours and I had this running on highest speed the whole time. All hail to the Ryobi gods and the toys (I mean tools) that we cannot live without.
I just got this. Ran it on low and medium with an older 4ah battery for around an hour this weekend. Battery still shows all 4 bars.
18"

Looks nice but if you don't need the battery feature some other options are cheaper. Lasko 20" shop fan at Sam's for $59.99 currently.

edit: thanks for the TD, apologies for actually posting something that was on topic and added to the conversation and even suggested an alternative product currently available. in the future I'll work on just clogging the thread with off.topic crap and dumb questions that I'm too lazy to figure out myself.

using a fully-charged Ryobi 18v 4Ah lithium battery(non-HP), how many minutes can I expect this fan to run at the lowest setting?

also... how rustproof is this fan? I want to use it in a covered porch... won't come in contact with rain, but will the outdoor humidity cause rust?

thanks!

I was thinking about this a while back, as I love my DeWalt 20v fan, but crave more. I'm not in the Ryobi battery ecosystem, and the feedback I saw was enough to convince me it wasn't good enough to invest in. Look up reviews and weigh them yourself (or prior thread when it was like $60 or $70 a while ago posted here). Someone quote me if you buy it. I'd like to hear impressions, especially contrary to my prior findings!

How many CFM are you? Where do you stick the battery?

This or the DeWalt 24 in drum fan from Costco? I would use a Ryobi inverter with the DeWalt if I get that.

I've bought this previously at a little less from DTO and love this fan. It has two main uses for me … to circulate air when I'm in the shed for more than a few minutes but the primary use is for standby during power outages. Has been used twice so far for that and it paid itself off just the first time with the comfort it afforded. The 2nd outage went almost all night during the recent heat wave and this got me through the night with one battery swap about 5 hours in. I pointed it so it provided air for my wife and I and our two little doggos. Been wanting another since then and will be buying again.

I think not being in the battery ecosystem would probably be the biggest consideration but for anyone already in it, it's a huge recommend from me.

There will always be cheaper options with cords for almost every power tool. But in this case, I have one of these and use it indoors with a cord just about daily. But when I have a gathering, I'll bring it outside. Also was nice to have when coaching my son's soccer games. This fan along with someone armed with a spray bottle of water and the team will be happy.

Where this one really shines for me if when we had a power outage. Not going to replace my central air, but it'll still help a ton with the hot house.

I use this more than most of my tools, sit outside, pop in a 4 or 9ah battery and you're good for most of the evening. Hang it back on the wall when done, no dealing with cords. Doesn't move a ton of air, but also doesn't need to. I have also used this to keep me cool when digging in the sun, planting, gardening, etc. The flexibility is fantastic.

Interesting, you've had two power outages since you bought the fan? Hmmm, I think the last power outage we had, at least anything more than a few minutes, was about 15 years ago, lol. I live in the boonies too!
Lol yeah actually had even more but those were prior to buying the fan. A lot of trees in our town coupled with shiddy drivers hitting poles and our electric company dropping the ball on keeping lines and equipment maintained properly.
