Corded
I have this model and I prefer it to larger lawnmowers, especially gas-powered ones. It takes more passes over the lawn, but it is much more maneuverable and easy to get over the uneven parts of my lawn. which are all over the place. I work in sections and don't have to make a pattern to show off some stripes or diagonal lines. I just need to get over the rough patches and the smooth ones to make the grass look mowed. This thing works just fine and it's easier to use than the big and heavy stuff.

At this price, I wonder if I should have a spare.
Pretty sure that's rear discharge, not side, which is far better anyway

yes, i am using the exact one right now. It works perfectly. It's better for the environment not using battery.

Our local power company burns coal so this wouldn't be that much better...

maybe if we were on wind, geothermal, or hydroelectric...

Dumb question, but how do you compare the power of a plug in lawn mower to cordless? I have a very, very tiny yard. I just bought the Costco cordless deal, which for me seems overkill. A cord would be fine for me because the yard really is small. Would this do the job? I have Bermuda grass.

Have one. Has a bag on the back, very light weight, cord is a pain sometimes. Gets it done just don't hit anything blade bends easily. Everything is plastic, but has held up two years. I may buy another.

I mean the pollution related to chemical used in battery, and recycling issues. How the power is generated, right it really doesn't matter.

I bought this 3 years ago & my husband laughed because he said the neighborhood would make fun of how small and light it seems... He loveit. Now this summer he has been working a lot of overtime so I started doing the lawn and it is wonderful. My backyard is only 5k sq ft. But even though the cord isn't a huge issue I would prefer battery if the results are the same. Just for what I assume would be ease of use? Not sure this helps?

Why even bother with a lawn then?

I have this. it's side discharge. Quickly swap to bag. My yard is only 10x20 ft so it is perfect.

Sorry if a dumb question, but how long is the cord? I would need an outdoor extension cord for this? I don't have a large yard, about 10'x12'.

If you're considering this, you might also consider the 18" GreenWorks corded mower for $71.66 also at Walmart. It definitely looks a lot sharper and has a larger blade for less than $13 more.

Is Sun Joe/Snow Joe a reliable brand or do you get what you pay for? I'm looking at a pressure washer and I see quite a few from Sun Joe that are almost half the price of other brands. Didn't know if they died within a year or two.

Just need 1.6 GMP flow for a foam cannon for washing cars, nothing else.

I've had my sunjoe electric power washer for 2 years and don't use my gas one anymore. It is solid and does a great job on siding, wood decks, cement pavers, etc.

a coal powerplant is cleaner than a car powerplant. gas lawn mower powerplants are worse than cars. nothing sophisticated about it.

When I got corded mower from Amazon, I spent like 80 dollars on 12 gauge yellow jacket brand 100 foot cord, only to see it in Sam's club some weeks later for 49.99..

it was on sale then but here: https://www.samsclub.com/p/exteni..._product_1
Yeah I've gotten 12 gauge Southwire cords for as low as $29.45 through Amazon. Just set price drop alerts for Amazon Basics, Southwire, etc and they will eventually drop low low for a small amount of time. If you're stuck in a bind though you kinda have to pay whatever price and that can be rough for people not expecting that extra cost.

The only reason I'm still using this mower though is that I have other uses for extension cords daily and I'm not going to upgrade this mower to a cordless one until I have to. I get the feeling that a lot of people use this mower with cheap extension cords and that's why don't last as long (some reviews sound that way).

I just want people to know cords aren't cheap!Project Farm just released a really good video on which brands are the best if anyone is interested [youtube.com] Using a cord the way you have to with this mower (whipping it constantly) will wear out most brands a lot quicker than normal use.

You would probably be fine. I have a snowblower that is this size that is corded. It works great for snow blowing. The cord takes some getting used to but once you figure out the best path it is not that big of a deal.

I have this Sun Joe model from 7 years ago. It still runs ok. No major complaints about it. It is pretty light, and its narrower width allows me to mow some pretty tight spaces between a fence and citrus trees. its a little bit slow spinning up now, but once its going its fine. It does bog and sometimes stop on really tall grass when the outlet to the grass catcher gets clogged. If it gets real clogged I rock it by the handle and sometimes do like an ollie with it to shake out the clog. But that is after 7 years of storage outside under a tarp basically and zero maintenance. I mean none at all (not recommended). I think the height adjustment broke on mine but I rigged it so it still works but only at the one level. The wheel broke off once too, and I had to rig a lock clip. sometimes, if I push on something with the mower, the plastic frame flexes and the blades scrape the inner plastic housing. I paid 110 at the time so... deflation? nice.

This one looks to have the mulching diverter attachment which my 7 year old one didn't come with, and the grass catcher bag fills up pretty quickly, it's not very big.
