I still see it as a fun satire on the state of our society but to each their own

For $7 more, given the difference in how much nicer an Arrow limited edition is over a regular edition, not to mention the fact that it will hold its value, it's worth the investment in my opinion. This limited version has an awesome sturdy slipbox and booklet included. The non limited version, which will be the only one available soon, has just a regular case with no slipcover or anything fancy. Arrow does this routinely with the titles it gives the limited treatment - it's out for a few months, goes out of print, and then gets replaced by a stripped down version.
I purchased this a few days ago for store pickup and can confirm that it is indeed the limited edition.
That means you don't get the underlying messages in the film.
For example, what happens when you privatize your military force? In the film, they select and setup an officer in a new district for the sole purpose of making more money using his dead body.
It's a parody of brain dead television, waste and inefficiency, and so many more themes. It's actually an amazing film when you view it through different lenses.
But maybe that's not for you. For people like you, movies like S.W.A.T. exist.
WHAT an idiot. It's satire and quite a brilliant take on 80s excess and the rise of the corporation.
This movie is legendary classic. No way they can make a movie as brutal, smart, and age like fine wine like this movie... it's still relatable and relevant today.
There is no movie that has a villain gang as realistic and brutal as this.
This movie had it all... great music, special effects, best one liners, cast, story pacing etc.
The new robocop remake and marvel movies today are a joke compared to this... nothing to do with nostalgia. Top Gun didn't age well (sequel is better), but Robocop has great pacing, just like Back to the Future
