There are deals popping up on eBay all the time for 6th and 7th generation Intel CPU desktops with SSD and Windows 10 for less than $100. Seller sent me an offer on eBay item number 394187094679 (search sold items) today for $94.70 shipped, just because I viewed his listing, although it sold since then. It's an Optiplex 5050 SFF, i5-6500, 8GB, 128GB SSD, fresh load of Windows 11.

Check in at eBay regularly and set your search criteria for:

Your deal will show up sooner than later. I recently picked up a Dell 3040 SFF ready to go for $60 shipped, and it's a wonderful little machine. Looks brand new as well. And has native 4K HDMI output for my 4K monitor. Good times.

Got the $88 Celeron deal and it was ok, issues with the hdmi port. Wouldn't exchange it. Using it as a server.

The 3040 was a buy it now, and an exceptional deal for sure. You have to dig a little, and sometimes wait a while, but this kind of deal does come around on eBay. I think we will see lower prices on 7th gen and older hardware because of the Windows 11 rollout obsoleting them.

I looked for a single stick of 8GB Samsung brand DDR4 running at the 3200 speed and didn't find it available. Maybe it's OEM only at this point. However, I ended up being satisfied with the 8GB installed right now anyway, so I stopped looking to upgrade for right now.

I did some further research on the importance of matched RAM, and some people on the internet aren't as big of sticklers about it being an issue as other people. From what I understand, mismatched RAM sticks will run at the slower RAM's speed.

Anyway, good luck getting to 16GB, however you end up accomplishing it.

Yeah, I got it set up on Monday after a Fedex Sunday delivery and a Monday delivery of a HDMI to DVI cable for my old monitor. Didn't know that the new computer was HDMI out only until delivery, and I wasn't about to pay $35 for one from Best Buy.

I'm very happy with the performance after doing a clean install of Windows 10. This computer absolutely flies compared to my old one. I started to do some preliminary shopping for a RAM upgrade while this machine was in transit, but I'm going to wait on that for right now because I'm more than satisfied with it's performance out of the box.

Thanks again for posting! This replaced my dying home office computer at a great price.

Thanks for sharing; I'm sure it will help others who are considering purchasing this Acer. I bought one as well and it arrived looking brand spanking new, with all the protective plastic still in place and not a scratch or scuff to be found on it.
