Since you asked I will say no, they are not a great deal. The last Tide deal for pacs I got on here was 61, for $13. I also got the 81 pace for $11.85 before that.

Costco by me starts there savings on detergent in a couple days. Don't see the difference in how tide cleans vs their brand.

last time i ordered this the 3 pouches were shipped in a manufacture cardboard box and 1 of the 3 was leaking. they werent in a plastic bag.

That was kind of my question.. Bags make environmental sense ,but do you just pour them in to a old tide bottle? Do you use more or less than that capfull? I do not like the mega large plastic jugs. It seems they are heavy, leaky and make a mess. I guess I would prefer to refill a old 40-50oz jug and use the cap to mesure.

In my mind they could sell me a concentrate to add water to make it a normal concentration. The pods are neat, but a waste if you are not running a full load. Thats why I like to mesure the detergent over pods. I run a lot of small loads lately.

my mom prefers the pouches as they are easier to handle then a big bottle that is much heavier.

But so much waste. A full load, 1 tab, but what if it is a half load or a quarter load?. I dont like adding more than I need because I have a septic tank. The same should apply to every one, but I have to deal with it . It all ends up in my drainfield, or the river for others. Waste water quality is something we can do things about ourselves. It saves resources and keeps it out of the ocean. We can do this before some one mandates it on us and that never goes well. I hear and see the problems in Lake Powell and Mead. Emergency water levels are hitting any day. I know there is lot of talk tapping in to the Mississippi a few houndred miles north of the gulf. We dont need to make that problem to solve any harder for our friends in the south. Desperate times means desperate mesures. And who does not like clean water?

What I do is only fill the big bottle about a quarter full so it's not as heavy.
