You don't need to swap the sim... you'll just log into your Tracfone account on their website, go to the activation area to set up the new phone & choose to keep your same #. Your existing minutes, texts & data transfer over to the new phone & you get the 1500 minutes, texts, 1.5GB Data & an extra year of service added to your account.

I usually save a screenshot of my minutes, texts & data beforehand just in case they don't update my account with everything, but usually it goes smoothly.

I believe any profit is based on their expectation for the customer continuing cell service for at least 'x' number of months. Demonstrates how much we're being overcharged for cell service in the USA, even the discounted plans.

It was good for me. I bought a Moto G Pure TracFone and when my main phone developed battery problems, the TracFone backup was unlocked and then used as primary phone on another network. In summary, this deal can give you a good backup if you activate on TracFone then unlock after 2 months.

I have an Android phone actively using Tracfone now. If I bought this should I just be able to swap the SIM and the new phone will automatically have all my current mins, texts, and mobile data? Or will I have to deal with Tracfone online chat to hopefully get it all properly sorted?

You don't need to swap the sim... you'll just log into your Tracfone account on their website, go to the activation area to set up the new phone & choose to keep your same #. Your existing minutes, texts & data transfer over to the new phone & you get the 1500 minutes, texts, 1.5GB Data & an extra year of service added to your account.
