Del XPS line it depends on which model. Their normal issue is the paste used/application. They also switched from one fan to two. Normally if you reapply paste it will help. I have not paid attention recently, but almost all notebooks seem to throttle because they all have highend cpus as the only option.

The performance of 12th generation intel and Apple silicone is fairly comparable. Apple's silicone is still more energy efficient but that is offset by the Gram's bigger battery. Also, Apple doesn't have a comparable product. At this price range you're looking at a 13 inch Air which is significantly less screen real estate than this 17 inch. You're looking at over a 100% increase in price to get up to the 16 inch pro and that device is 50% heavier. Also not all programs run on Mac OS and unlike intel versions of Mac running windows or windows programs is not as easy.
The new lines of MacBook Air and Pro is impressive but it's not the be all end all in laptops.
Should be able to. Product keys embedded in firmware are interchangeable between windows 10 and 11, drivers too. Grab c:\windows\system32\driverstore folder, download windows 10 with windows 10 media creation tool, boot from it, wipe all partitions, install it, use saved driver's to kill all bangs in the device manager.
I have 1065G7 17" LG Gram and I put 40G of RAM there (8+32). The best travel / productivity laptop ever. I am not upgrading yet as 1065 is plenty for what I do and it runs cool with no fan.
And 17" 2560*1600 is so nice for productivity that I am often ignoring the monitor LG is connected to.
Only 3 complaints if I get picky:
1. Sound is terrible.
2. Would pay more for OLED/120Hz or even IPS/120Hz
3. The frame could still be reduced slightly, like Dell XPS 17. Sometimes it's hard to fit it into a hotel deposit safe box.

I own the i7 version. My favorite laptop ever. LG won't be actively working against it's customers repairing their own devices.

The LG Gram seems like a good contender for desktop replacement which I need as well.
