I look 2-3x/year to see if FFT has added an AppleTV app, or even controller support for AirPlay, and somehow the answer is still no. Chrono Trigger, however, has been updated with both.
Just a word of warning. Squeenix has an awful track record of releasing iOS ports and then abandoning them, meaning they will eventually stop working when you update your phone. Chrono Trigger was broken for years before they updated it. So was The World Ends with You, and more recently FFIX.
This is the nature of mobile gaming obviously, but at the premium prices they charge you'd think they'd throw out an update or two every few years to keep the games from breaking.
Idk anything about these ports... but FF tactics is the best Final Fantasy game of all time, IMO. Revolutionary playstyle, serious story telling, fun mechanics. A classic that I still enjoy some 20+ years after its release... and to me that says a lot about a game.

Agreed, this is why I've been avoiding buying the games. A lot of them don't support cloud saves either.
A bit of a side question, if I want to play FF4-6 on Xbox, there is no way to get it, correct? I've looked at the store and on True Achievements and it doesn't look like it's available, which is surprising. I don't want to play on mobile but at this point I might have to.
If I'm reading this right, FF Tactics is only iPhone or iPad correct? And the iPad version costs a dollar more?
The cheaper FFT for $6.99 works for both iPad and iPhones and I think the data is saved via iCloud so you can play between devices. However, when playing this version on the iPad, it's scaled down to a lower resolution to match the iPhone and it doesn't fill the entire screen unless you zoom. The iPad only version for $7.99 always runs full screen on the iPad and I've heard runs a lot smoother compared to the iPhone version. I don't know if you can use the same game saves between the two versions.
Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to wait till Black Friday to get some deals on Nintendo switch gift cards and then pull the trigger on these games on the switch instead. Will not be using the ipad/iPhone for these games.

officially, no. but you can download retroarch on xbox and play it that way.

I'm not too familiar with that. Is that the one you pay like $10 for a special license?
it used to be that you had to be in dev mode which required money but for awhile now it has not been necessary. here's a pretty straight forward video to explain the basics : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKgVRBtUBFQ

And we're more unlikely to see it now that Square-Enix has been rumored to release a FFT Remastered title. It's a shame because I got the Kishi and was hoping they would've eventually updated it to support controllers.
