Not a SD at all. This amounts to $0.028/sq ft. The number of rolls and comparing roll sizes such as "jumbo", "regular" and "mega" is just a marketing ploy used by paper manufacturers. There is no standard for Jumbo or Mega or any other description of size. The only thing that matters is unit cost which is the price per sq ft or sq meter. Typically Sam's and Costco sell TP and Paper Towels for approximately $0.018 - $0.020 / square foot. This is significantly higher than that. Don't be fooled by these terms and NEVER buy paper on a cost per roll. Roll sizes can vary 3-4X depending upon the manufactuer.

I've heard this many times on SD and it makes sense, but how do you know how many sqft is in a charmin megaroll? Is there some sort of list someplace that has brand/roll/sqft for each type of TP?

The surface area is shown on every package of toilet paper and paper towels. There is no standard for roll description in mega, jumbo, or whatever. It's just a marketing ploy.

I think for practical purposes, cost per sheet is a better measure than cost per square foot. It is worth noting the size of the sheet as this may affect the quality of the "experience."

One thing shady about this is the text description quotes 338 sheets per roll, while the images and a recent review indicate you'll likely get 313 sheets per roll.

I hate that they keep changing this to me more like quilted sandpaper instead of charmin unquilted and price sucks too.

Quilting makes the paper rough and more like a paper towel. Marketing and bean counters destroy good products.
