Finally seeing RTX gpus "under" MSRP. Comes with a free EVGA Z12 Keyboard.

You can also get the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING, 08G-P5-3767-KL for $520 which is pretty good for a better cooler. Also comes with the same Z12 keyboard for free.

This late in the game, it should be closer to $300 for x70 cards. I'm tired of stans giving Nvidia (and AMD by extension) a free pass to arbitrarily jack up prices to levels vastly outpacing inflation.
Msrp was shit to begin with..
While this is one of the best deals on a quality RTX 3070 yet, prices for 3000 series cards have nowhere to go but down. Nvidia has a ton of stock lying around. I think we'll see the 3070s under $400 in a couple of months. Plus, the market will have a lot more used 3000 cards available. IMHO, $400 is a strong but price for the 3070, and I'm in no hurry.

With their 4000 series coming up, nearly all manufacturers are sitting on mountains of inventory. So much so that they're planning to delay the 4000 series launch just so they can move some intevtory.
Take that at whatever face value as you'd like. Me personally, I'm sticking with my 1080ti for a little bit longer.

Features section mistakenly lists this as a GDDR6X card, and it's not. This is standard, slow, GDDR6. Good news is you don't have to mod it to make it functional.

Is this a significant boost in performance compared to a 1080?

How do you know they have a "ton of stock lying around"? I'm genuinely curious and may hold off my purchase.

I have never said they do, nor am I saying it now, BUT...would they be dropping prices if they had limited stock? Prices are coming down weekly or sometimes even faster. AMD cards are coming down as well. At this point, I would expect more of the same.

I am just going throw this out there. The 3070's really need to be around $300 with a free game at this point in the product life cycle. These cards should have had 16GB of VRAM. I think the top sku is a 10GB card in the 3070 line.
a 3070 doesnt seem to be powerful enough to warrant 16gb while providing playable fps. thats like 4k very high detail . No different than a 3060 with 12gb

still rockin my 1080, the 3060ti looks like a good upgrade but to be honest I'll wait for $300. things have changed a lot over the years, dropping the quality is much harder to see, upscaling actually works, everyone wants 120fps but do they need it, etc all driven by the consoles. i'm at 1440p tho.

I just got a Predator 144hz monitor for my 1080 and it's killing it at 4K. Rocket League, Tomb Raider, Subnautica… all hit 144 fps at 4K with high settings. The fans are definitely spinning more and I hit 72'C on the die, but it's great.

I'm thirsty to upgrade, but I don't see how the 3000 and 4000 cards can be better than what I have besides heat control.

Wowzers... Not only is this a pretty decent GPU, but it's actually discounted below MSRP.
No, $500 WAS MSRP for 3070s. $600 for a 3080

You are forgetting the need for more VRAM for running multiple displays. The memory prices are not expensive. The 3070 is a very powerful GPU.

Oh they definitely do, a lot of companies do. Not even just in computer parts but everything just about. So many people and companies were trying to take advantage and sell as much crap at inflated prices as possible.

Computer parts, houses, cars, but all of that is probably going to crash pretty soon and they're going to be screwed if they don't get rid of it all.

Barely, I went from a 1070 to the ti 3070 and was extremely disappointed. For skipping two generations I was expecting something with twice as much power, not like what felt like maybe 50% or less. Pathetic really.. But at 400 to $500 I would say it is acceptable.
