Listing says the blade is made out of 9Cr18MoV, which is a very good budget steel if it gets a good heat treatments. I've got several non-S&W knives made out of this steel and it preforms well. Problem is the S&W website only shows this knife made out of 8Cr13MoV, which is a lesser steel. If the tacticool aspects of this knife do it for you then this might be a deal for you, but I tend to stay away from S&W knives and any knife listing that lies about the steel used. If it is actually made from 9Cr18MoV then it's a far better deal, again, if the tactical style of the knife appeals to you.
