The one area OLED remains king is overall dark scenes that have bright elements. Ie, a cityscape at night. OLED do shine.
You do realize there is a fallacy in using a video to determine this right?
You should used the measured specs which clearly show the black level being better in the OLED
Then we can talk about the blooming in a dark background, with light objects, on an LCD..non existent in an OLED
If you want to really try prove this
Show me some measured specs , by a professional, where an LCD has the same black levels
LG: Better OS, better remote, support for Dolby Vision
Samsung: Better picture quality, much brighter image, better highlights, reminds me of a high end LCD in terms of brightness.
This TV's HDR10 is better than Dolby Vision on 99% of other TVs, including the LG C1 (I haven't seen the C2/G2 yet). If it had DV, maybe it would look better, but it's already so good, there is very little room for improvement. That goes for high end TVs in general. The overall Rtings scores where all OLEDs have scored 8.7-8.9 for years are a good indicator. the C2/G2 has a 9.0 and the S95B has a 9.1. the gap between high end TVs really is that small. Most of the improvements from the last few years won't be noticed by most people, or obvious in most content. If you have a C9, CX, C1, etc, and get this TV, you're going to be amazed by a few demo videos and might see a noticeable jump in a few movies and HDR games, but it won't be much of an improvement in most content. And you can push this TV to be brighter and more colorful (Contrast Enhancer on High and color space set to Native does look amazing on HDR content), but then you're not getting an accurate picture. For movies/TV, I prefer the LG C1 for the more accurate picture and for games, S95B easily wins for me.
The firmware issues were no joke, but on 1303 and after unistalling the Samsung Live TV app, it's been great for me. It is more capable than LG OLEDs, there is just not a lot of chances for it to shine in normal content. This is a great price, so I think a lot of the issues people have with it at $3,000 shouldn't carry much weight here, and the $4,000 Sony A95k shouldn't even be compared for double the price. I think the 65C1 for $1,300 new is realistic so it's definitely the way to go as the prices drop, but if money is less of an issue, the S95B/C2 already dropping this low is great.

For me, I don't care what the official black levels are etc. I only care by what I can see in the room I use it in.
Have both C1 and QN90, and BOTH are fantastic sets and IMO, equal picture quality overall.
My only gripe with QN90, and it was serious when I first got it, was how much tinkering and resets required to finally get it looking good. Plus it's menu take way too many steps to access (would be same on s95b!)
Besides that, qn90a 85inch, and C1 48" and G1 55" ALL satisfy me equally.
Perhaps when OLED is available at 80+" without costing double more, I'd consider it.
I don't game, I don't do blue ray. That's my use case.
Dolby vision v HDR 10 is merely marketing! But I do understand that feeling of just wanting DV so it doesn't nag.

In the video you linked you can clearly see the better black level in the CX
And honestly he could have gone into the intricate shadow detail that an OLED can do that no LCD can match. Bladerunner 2049 has an excellent scene, in my opinion for an OLED demo, in a dark room where you see the intricate details of the salt and pepper on Harrison Ford's face
Then there is that change of color and brightness off angle that OLED does not have
As for burn in...I have actually had a warranty payout for it for an OLED before

Fwiw, ALL TV degrade, even LED. How fast is another story. I have LED 10 years later still looking great. OLED is too new know for sure.
I suppose if you need a TV to last beyond 5 or 7 years, then avoid OLED simply because the jury is unknown. However, very unlikely they will degrade that much that fast that would make viewing not enjoyable.
For 99% of consumers, they aren't looking to 'upgrade' every 5 years, let alone every single year. I'd say most would expect at least 10 years. IMO TV should last minimum 15, and I say that as my own person opinion. (I only replaced my 2012 60" Samsung only because I was getting tired of squinting! Now it's unplugged and deciding where it should live it's life.. recycled, or give it away.
