You're comparing a 32" 16:9 monitor to a 38" ultrawide curved monitor.
I think the point here is they are two monitors in different classes with some fundamental differences in specs, makes the comparison being made kind of moot.
It's the thunderbolt 3 connection that drives up the price. All usb-c monitors I've seen are overpriced tbh

Highly recommended. Got it since it was released in late 2020. Paid the full price plus geek squad warranty from Best Buy. Best work from home investment. I also do light gaming, mostly LoL, and it is perfect

The locations of those inputs look problematic for anyone considering it as part of a stand alone flight or racing sim rig.

The monitor stands with aluminum profile run horizontal, level with the VESA mount.

Can't justify anymore with MiniLED quickly taking over the market.
MiniLED actually isn't better than OLED.

I waited for over a year to pull the trigger on this monitor and got ita few months ago for retail price. It's a great monitor if you need to do color accurate work and like to game on the side. It gets pretty bright (this was my first HDR monitor) and I can plug my work laptop in with one cable. There are definitely some problem with it but this was the only thing available like it for a few years that I could find at least. Do your research before you buy but I can say I am glad I got it!

Way better than the traditional tech in this monitor and doesn't suffer burn-in. I would take MiniLED over OLED for burn-in reasons alone.

You can get a 48" LG C1 OLED screen and a 34" QHD ultrawide monitor for about the same price as this thing if you play your cards right. $1200 is crazy talk at this point for such a small panel.. LG brand name or not..
Those who can't tell the difference between TV and monitor, this is a great solution (lucky you). For me, the Auto Brightness Limiting (ABL) alone drives me nut. Every time I open an excel worksheet the monitor get dimmer. I ended up got the Alienware 38.

You really don't know what you are talking about.
The 4K Tv aspect ratio is horrible especially for a large size unless you are using it for a very specialized scenario. Working on that 8 hours each day will guarantee you neck pain with that ridiculous height.
I've been there done that.
This is the best size and aspect ratio for a general purpose productivity/work/gaming monitor.

I assume this one: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-40wp95c-w/

Great, I didn't "need" a 40in wide screen monitor but now I feel I "have to" get one.

Pfft... I have two LG 5K 5120x2880 (or 10240x2880) of resolution. That is 29 million pixels of resolution at 208 PPI. Nothing beats that,. Just for comparison, I also have the 49 inch Samsung G9 at 104 PPI.

I only wish LG developed more 200+ PPI monitors. The experience is so good I am tempted to go Apple XDR 6K monitors.

You're comparing two monitors people don't cross shop that's not even remotely in the same category. What is so hard to understand?
That is not accurate. The intersection of the markets for both of these monitors is gaming but beyond that both of these monitors can be used for office applications . In that regard the larger size of the screen for the 38" certainly provides some advantage however those advantages are apparently offset by a number of negatives
