I got the one from best buy and used it all last night. It did turn the fans on but it was quiet. You can hear them but mine was not as loud as described. The fans did not run all the time. So far, it's a pretty impressive laptop. Seems very fast and didn't get too hot on my lap after hours of use.

Very good looking with the chrome. About the same thickness as my 2019 Inspiron. Weighed in at just over 3.5 lbs on my scale.

Does have lots of Lenovo bloat as to be expected.

The screen is amazing with HDR on. Highly recommend the OLED for those who watch a lot of video.

Definitely don't need the 4K. You can't even see the pixels with your face right next to the screen.

Speakers are decent for laptop speakers.

The "trap door" effect some OLEDs have is only described intermittently. This panel is used by many laptops. One guy exchanged his and got a new one that was much better so if the picture is grainy on whites or grays I'd recommend trying to exchange it.

The fans aren't blaring all the time. Understress or when it gets hot from Excel and browsing sometimes, which isn't a heavy load. Haven't tried gaming on it or anything.

Still a beautiful laptop with strong speakers and a great screen. 4k is a lot for such a small screen so I have it magnified in a bit. Now I just need to get use to the larger track pad.

IMO this deal will go Frontpage soon. It has a bigger hard drive than the other fp deal. Also the cash back. Maybe slick deals can set up their own cash back instead of using r.

I have an existing order from Lenovo for the 4k display with 512gb Hard drive. I might order this one instead.. Besides the difference in hard drive and 2.8k instead of 4k, I am wondering for this one is there a toggle to go back and forth to 90hz to 60hz refresh rate? I'm also wondering which order to keep if I do because display wise I haven't seen enough info on battery life compared between the two besides this one having a bigger hard drive..Also wondering if one is more reflective then the other even though they are both glossy screens.

I'm real undecided at the moment and have read different reviews etc etc but haven't seen anything real definitive. Any advice anyone?

The screens are equally reflective. I've read pretty much every review out there about these laptop versions, and with the exception of one review they recommend the 2.8k screen they say the battery life will be better. The one review I read that recommended the 4k screen was from notebookcheck and they said the 2.8k screen had clear graininess, which happens to some OLED screens. But then I read about a lot of reviews on OLED screens and it doesn't sound like that's consistent even for the same model screen, so if that happens to you and it's bad, get an exchange.

In terms of battery life, most reviews say the 2.8k screen will have better battery life but the battery life estimates I've read between reviews are not consistent and do not say how much better. I imagine that the fact it's 90hz refresh rate impacts battery life negatively a bit too.

If it were me, I'd cancel the 4k one and get this one. Strangely though, the 4k one actually has a bigger discount if you look at the order confirmation details, the coupon gets you $600 off instead of $545 and I got 2% less cash back for this one. So price wise, they're almost equal.

I really want something with a full hinge for airplane use, but I just keep coming back to my fanless M1 Air that does everything I need except for the form factor with no noise or heat. Maybe meteor lake will have a comparable ultra low voltage answer.

Not sure what you mean by toggle. I have the laptop and I can confirm it has 60 and 90Hz settings

Maybe I got lucky, but the screen on the one I got is not at all grainy

I returned the 2.8k version and bought the 4k, which I'm keeping. If you have decent vision, the 2.8k has a noticeable "screen door" or graininess to the screen. Anything with a light background has a bit of a diamond pattern texture to it, kind of reminds me of what polo shirt fabric looks like. The 4k panel has it too, but due to the resolution it's much finer so I have to be a lot closer to see it.

Also, the fans are always on. A bit annoying since I'm switching from a fanless macbook air, but NOT terribly loud in most cases.

Overall, this is the best windows laptop I've tried.

I've been on it for an hour and half with low power settings and it's at 83%. Yesterday I think I went something like 4 hours full power and tasking. Still not 100% certain but seems pretty good.

My fans are 100% off right now, so there is definitely a fanless mode. It's completely silent right now. The fans just appear to react to load.

With no fans on right now it's barely above room temp to the touch on the bottom.

Anyone else seeing the screen door effect?

These 14" 2.8k oled screens are all Samsung screens I believe and this screen is used in many other laptops such as the Lenovo slim 7, Asus zenbook, basically any laptop with a 14" 2.8k screen. I don't see most reviews really talking about graininess in the screen though.
