To qualify for the full $500 discount, you need to:
Activate the phone on a new full service plan (data-only SIMs do not qualify) within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and keep the qualifying phone active on Google Fi for 120 consecutive days.
You must be a new Fi customer. A new Fi customer is someone who has never had Fi service or someone whose last day of Fi service took place more than 180 days before making a purchase with this promotion.
You must activate on the same Fi account used to purchase the phone or be a new member of the purchaser's group plan.
You must also bring/transfer your number to Fi within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email. Fi-to-Fi number transfers are not eligible.
The discounted price will automatically apply during checkout. If you do not meet the conditions above, $500 will be charged to your Google Pay account.
You may also Trade-In Phone for additional savings. Select "Yes" for "Do You have a phone to trade-in" then follow on-screen prompts. -slickdewmaster
**NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY****Google Fi selling Z FLIP 4 for $499 and Z FOLD 4 for $1299. PORT-IN and 4 MONTHS service require.
PHONES will be UNLOCKED out of the BOX. Just activate the phone with fi Sim card and keep the sim aside for 120 days. DO NOT PUT THE SIM CARD IN ANY OTHER PHONE to avoid getting charge back.
PORT IN require and NEW customer or NEW LINE in existing account
FLIP 4 seems better deal as its only $499 + $100 approx for 4 months for service.
You can save a trip to Target and just sign up for a Google Voice number on a dummy google account, and then pay $3 to unlock it. You can then port it to Google Fi, and it qualifies for the promotion. Your account number is your 10 digit phone number, and pin is the voicemail pin you can set in the settings. $1 more, but a lot less hassle than going to Target, setting up a new Mint line, and then requesting port out info from CS.
$1300 for a mobile phone, are these people living in the 80s?
They run off of T-mobile towers.

Just FYI if you already have fyi and need a number to port, just go to target and get a $2 dollar mint mobile card that's good for a week, set up then port then take your old Google fi and port it back to Google voice and then install Google voice on new device and you will have old and new numbers and have discount....

But you need a number to setup a new Google voice number, if you link it to your current one that messes it up doesn't it?

That's true. I have so many numbers from all these Tracfone/HSN and Total Wireless deals, so I just used one of these for the dummy line. If you have no spare number/line available and you don't want to port your only Google Voice number to Fi, then you are better off buying a number to port from ebay or setting up a temp account with a prepaid provider like you mentioned. I heard some of the prepaid providers will ban you for such practices, so I didn't want to take a chance and just went with Google Voice.
Another thing you could try is to create a new Google Voice number on a dummy Google account and linking your cell number to it (thus unlinking it from your main GV number). Then after you port the new GV number to Fi, you can re-link your cell# to your main GV number. Shouldn't be an issue as you can unlink and re-link your cell# to your Google Voice number easily.

You can't port out a number from the Mint mobile 1 week trial sim ($1 - $5 at various locations). You could use it to get another GV number and port that to FI.

Right I mean visible to setup gv then port that. Mainly cause the others you order and wait for shipping whereas you cna go get the mint in a minute you got a new number then setup new gv for new Google fi account
I have A family member that wants to get this phone as a new customer. He will be porting a number in. However I would like the family member to be a part of the family plan that I currently have. Is he considered a new customer so that he can get the discount? Not sure how to go about this
Does it really require 4 months of service? I don't see that written anywhere, even in the Terms & Conditions. It also says "No contracts or activation fees" on https://fi.google.com/about/plans/... Can someone please confirm on this?

Or you could use the boost mobile 1 month trial (https://slickdeals.net/f/15885721-boost-mobile-first-month-5gb-5g-4g-lte-free-sim-0-99-tax?attrsrc=s...) or the Ting $1 sim; or Visible $5 for 1 month
