You guys should consider grabbing an Upsie Warranty for your new devices. Samsung devices are super expensive to repair screenwise. Upsie has 20% off warranties this weekend with code LABOR, which is the largest discount they have. For the S22 Ultra, it would be $136 for a 2-year warranty with $49 deductible for repair.

I've used Upsie for years and have been very happy with it. Have multiple repairs with no issues.
I posted this in other thread too but here you go again: If you have postpaid account then pay your cellphone bill with credit card that provides cellphone protection. Don't need to pay for extra warranty. I personally use Wellsfargo credit card.

You can trade the phone in and continue to make the payment. It doesn't have to be paid off.
Thank you! Peace

Sure, that's great if you have one of those credit cards, but most people don't, so this is another option.

Anyone think the price will be back to normal tomorrow (their typical Monday changes?) I was hoping for them to come down tomorrow for activate later and if this is a risk I would rather do it today than lose it altogether tomorrow..

Any idea if you can avoid at&t activation charges and first month of service charge if you port out before even turning on the phone? My phone was ship to home since the store was out of stock, so I'm not sure the service has technically even started yet

you'll be billed. for the activation fee, you'll need to call Att and ask politely to waive it.

Went to one BBY store today, too bad they refused to combine the carrier activation price and the trade-in promo. Will have to try it at a different store tomorrow.

Best strategy is don't even mention carrier activation until near the end. I did this today. Asked for unlocked S22U for my trade in. They brought it out and proceeded to process the trade in with the gift card/coupon combo. Then after I saw both in their hands, I asked if I can do a new line activation with T-Mobile as well (again, not mentioning anything about extra discounts). Guy proceeded to do all of that and mentioned the extra discount after the total price came up. I was like cool, sign me up laugh out loud

They specifically told me about the full price with trade-in before I even asked. Then when I asked about the activation price, they said that's w/o trade-in. So, they purposely wanted to deny the combo Mad

It is amazing to see how bad BB train their employees as everyone seems to have different experience. I end up giving a shot today and 1 hour before closing.. Guy walked by and we started the discussion. he sounded like he was aware of the promotion and he in fact told me that the promotion is only for activation now price. I politely told him, "sure, lets move forward". But he kept asking for my existing number and trying to make the purchase first and traded in the device for $250.

I have to clarify him that you have to do the trade in first and enter the coupon "Samsung" to get the higher trade in value. He did not fight or refuse and started that option and within few minutes he was able to see the $300 GC showing up. He went to print coupons and then started the new line process (which is kind of what I wanted to get the $800 price). Lot of signing and selection in the pinpad and eventually opened up the line fine.

I was little skeptical that the price was still showing $800+tax (as he did not apply the coupon yet) and eventually he transferred the cart items after activation to POS and that's where the coupon was applied. He was actually taking some wrong option to apply the coupon and also entering the UPC than coupon printed by Samsung and I had to remind him to scan. Eventually he did the correct option and did the coupon and scanned my GC and told me "wow, you are getting this phone for $21.xx.. Sounds like a great deal". I said "yes, I know :-) " and thanked him as he never pushed back and was cooperating as he learned through this.

I ended up opening a new T-Mo line only for this promo with a $30 plan(essentials) and activation fee of $35. I am planning to downgrade the plan first to $20 and eventually cancel after a month and I have to also try to ask them to waive the activation fee.. Fingers crossed.

Thanks everyone for great inputs and the deal worked like a charm provided you get a good sales associate and know what you need to tell them.

Edit: Despite my big story, the overall process was less than 20 minutes.. I also got the phone unopened and he was able to activate (if anyone is curios). He asked me if he needs to help me with putting the sim inside the phone and I refused and took the phone and sim card home.

Edit Again: There is no ACTIVATION FEE for T-Mobile in BB (confirmed!).
