I traded S21 ultra for S22 ultra for $39.99 tax.
S21 ultra traded for $380+bonus promo $120 + $400 Samsung promo ( something like this total $900). My service is t-mobile.
I traded in 3 S21's that still had active EIP's on T-Mobile. I'm still getting bill credits for a few more months. They didn't ask, nor did they refuse the trade in.
You are still responsible for the balance of the phone regardless if you trade it in or not.

There were a few threads mentioning 2 separate transactions dealing with your trade in amount going into gift cards. That is correct. Then she used the gift card to buy the unlock s22+ and activated throw T-mobile. That allowed me to get an additional $250 off.
What I noticed was during the trade my s21+ was worth about $300 and she scanned another coupon from Samsung that gave me an extra $500. that's how I ended up with $800 for my trade
