Is this better than the HD M12 Fuel hack?

Metabo HPT is the junk off-brand Metabo, right?
it is Hitachi company, acquired by a company then changed the name to Metabo HPT. I still have one Hitachi impact drill, working good. This package is not heavy duty. The heavy duty drill always have a handle with it.

Are you sure it's the same kit? I remember the Metabo fullsize going on a similar sale last year...this is the subcompact stuff.
I've got both the old brushed hitachi drill and impact(~'12) and the new "compact" metabo; only major difference I've found is weight and size. Honestly torque is probably stronger on the smaller metabo, closer kick to a dewalt than the classic hitachi. Given it's in a home situation, but either has been able handle what I throw at them.

I've had an Hitachi drill, saw, and sawzall in light service for many years. They have held up well. A battery died on rare occasions.

Will someone please make me feel better about buying the Milwaukee fuel m18 stuff over this? Having SD wallet syndrome from going a little nuts with the Milwaukee deals lately and I think I'm in the right support thread.

Milwaukee is overkill for most people but there's nothing wrong with having the best of the best. Especially since gen 3 stuff is "old" but far from outdated

The 12v Hitachi stuff I've had (light service/DIY work) has been phenomenal, along with their warranty. I had a charger fail and it was killing my batteries, so they ended up replacing it and the batteries way out of warranty. Was really pleased with how straightforward things were handled.

Only one brushless tool and it's the compact driver, not the old $200 one that had adjustable tensions and high and low in addition to variable speed.

I just got one of those for $80 and it's okay, but the low speed is a huge help if you didn't get your pilot hole just right and don't want to shear heads off.

The right-angle driver is also the only of its kind in the HPT lineup so no brushless or 36v version.

2 batteries and a charger make this a decent sale if you've got nothing or don't think you'll upgrade.

Not that it matters since the deal expired, but three of the tools are brushless; only one tool is *not* brushless. The reciprocating saw is not.

The impact driver, drill, and multitool are all brushless.

Blind - I mistook the. multitool for the right-angle driver, which isn't brushless.
