I have this exact setup at home, plus the non-adjustable speaker stands from Costco. Movies sound absolutely FANTASTIC. Highly recommeneded.
By the way, skip the sub from Sonos. I purchased a Connect:Amp (model ZP120) from eBay for $120, added an inexpensive Infinity subwoofer and increased bass is great.
(side note: to add the sub this way you need to 'Group' together the Beam+Surround and Connect:Amp in the Sonos app)

It's a good price, but I don't think it's "way too low" for clearing out some older, discontinued models.
The Sonos Beam 1 with the Play 1 luckily works on both S1 and S2 app. I honestly do not recommend buying any of the older device that is only S1 compatible.
I would say at this price ($450), get this. You would be spending $750 on a similar setup with the Beam 2 and (2)SL for the rears. At that point I would recommend the Arc ($800). The Arc is way superior than the Beam even with the rear surrounds.
If someone is looking at the Ray vs Beam 1, hands down the Beam 1.

As someone else posted, there's a hack to use a Sonos 1 or IKEA speaker work for feeding a subwoofer (the sub has to have speaker level input).
