It will work, but you're better off with a WD Purple or other surveillance drive designed for continuous writes.

Is 7200rpm going to be loud? No 5400rpm for 10tb+?

Unfortunately no , I was looking for the same—a large but quieter & lower vibration drive. However from briefly reading most of market is from enterprise, and basically it's too niche for them to make two versions.

Seems like nothing above 8TB. However I've read Helium ones would be quieter.

I wrapped my drive in a sock. Lowered the noise about 90%.

This seems like a great deal? As someone trying to shuck 10tb drives for the same price I was happy to shell out for a WD Red 12TB.

I should have probably bought 4 and set up a nifty NAS instead of my weird 6 hard drives plugged into an old computer setup, but this works great for today.

I don't know. I've had two WD Red drives fail in my Synology, but my Seagate Ironwolfs have never failed. Of course this is anecdotal, as any drive can fail.
