I just switched to this case. This is somewhat accurate yes you need to take it out to get the power supply in but with good cable management there's room to put it back in

I really wanted this case, but after watching some YT videos I realized that the hard drive caddy inside is basically a throwaway. You need that space for cables coming from the Power Supply.

Thanks you guys. That's encouraging. I'll be using a Corsair RM850i power supply, so maybe it's possible to run all the cables and still install the hd caddy in its default position.
If you have no plans to add any side mounted 120mm fans (or 360mm radiator), you can remove the fan bracket and there will be plenty of room for a long PSU, after sliding the dual 3.5" HDD caddy forward to a new mounting position. If you don't remove the side fan bracket, you cant slide the HDD in/out. Kind of an oversight. In addition, if you plan on using a thicc radiator from Arctic, it is a challenge to fit anywhere! The Arctic 280mm will get blocked by VRM heatsinks in the top. There won't be a way to mount it in front with all 8-screws holding it down, whether in push or pull. In pull, you can mount radiator with four screws. Side mounted 360mm radiator is fine (though you would lose HDD caddy). Its pretty surprising the shortcomings in such a large case. With that said, if you choose your components carefully, it is a nice case and thermals are fine with the glass front as there are wide gaps.

Oh wow I was going to start a build in it that includes a 4TB HDD and a 1600 watt EVGA p+ psu (overkill but seemed like a good deal for future proofing). Is it possible to install the HDD sideways on the 2.5 inch slots by any chance? I assume not but not sure what to do here now..
That PSU will barely fit. Anything over about 170mm makes the cables a super tight squeeze.

Thank you. I guess I might have to look for external drives for storage unfortunately and return the HDD I bought..

im waiting to build new pc probably end of this year or early next year when new cpu and rtx 4000 comes out. This case looks awesome and i really wanna pull the trigger. but im not sure it's good idea to buy the parts early and giving up return window if the case has problem. that's the only thing I worry. i can probably do some inspection after receiving the case, but from my experience problems usually shows up while im putting things together. anyhow, for $100 that's steal
We still don't know what the vendors are doing. I think we are seeing huge case and power supply deals because a new standard is coming. ATX v3 and a new power supply standard may make this case obsolete. Not to mention not having the newest external USB ports. That is why I am passing. I plan to build an unfortunately expensive machine once the new standards come. Also, you need a very large PSU for the new video cards, so make sure you get something 1200W plus, I'm going 1600+ (1800 is max for a 15 amp circuit in the US).

As a person with the 5000D I can say this shouldn't be the case...
I'm using a large hx1000 from Corsair, 3 gpu cables, 3 SSDs, and HDD... It's plenty usable. As a matter of fact you can move the drive bay closer to the front of you need to as well.

Just did a new 12700k build with this case. 1000RMX PSU fit fine with the HDD cage. Love the case looks awesome

I wouldn't recommend this case. The glass panel has a major design issue where it shatters. That is exactly what happened to me, it shattered when I was attempting to remove it and the metal backing fell on my foot causing a cut on my toe. Look up this issue, before you purchase.

5000D Airflow is much better. Glass front case tends to restrict airflow.

I'm currently using a 4000D and want to upgrade, but its never on sale. Frown
I've got a 5800X, which is one of the hottest GPUs available, and I'm usually in the 75 degree range with a 360 AIO with this case. For reference, with a 120 AIO and a different case, the temps bounced off of 90-92 degrees even on non-demanding games. I've just got 1 rear fan, the front 3 fans and the AIO, and while I could install more fans, they simply aren't necessary. I suppose if you were running a 3090 ti with some ungodly CPU, the glass panels might be a factor, but I think for 95% of people this case is fine. Temps are not a problem at all.

Purchased this case a few weeks ago when it was on sale. It's a great case, well made. As others have said, the fans it comes with makes it a very good value for $100. It is a BIG and Heavy case though.

Good looking case... but if you're in and out of your case often, this one can be a pain. Not very light either.

If you have a modular power supply and do a little cable management it is fine.

I went from the 4000D airflow to the 5000D airflow to do additional water cooling, and it's a good case. However, it is huge and heavy. Absolutely massive compared to the 4000D. In hindsight, I prefer the 4000D more and if I had just bought a couple of different components I could have gotten much the same setup in the smaller case. But that's just me.

The pictures make it look like the front and the top are glass. How is this good for air flow.

Unless you need a massive drive for video editing... Why would you use a traditional drive instead of a modern M.2?
