Slickdeals makes money by auto-converting all links posted by users into affiliate links. You click a link, it goes to an affiliate/tracking site (sometimes 2 or 3), which forwards to the actual link. If it's a store, that means SD gets commission on anything purchased there by someone clicking that link.
Some of the affiliate sites occasionally go down. Some of them are also a bit shady, so if you're running an ad-blocker or privacy extension, that can also break the links as many of those block these affiliate sites.
Whenever I encounter a problem, I just:
Click reply to the original post to reveal the original link as text (not necessary in this case since it's short). It's the stuff starting with http, ending before [/URL
Manually highlight the text URL
Right-click it
Select Open Link in New Tab.
That will open the link without all the affiliate garbage SD adds.
Could someone share some examples of things to use this for?
I got the exact same one at Target a while back but I was sort of confused about how / where to utilize it. It was a rather large black velcro pad and I feel like it wouldn't be very discrete and would stand out like a sore thumb unless whatever object you're hanging up totally conceals it. But maybe I was misunderstanding how you're supposed to use it?
Does anyone have examples of things they might hang with this?
I stuck a Mac mini to the back of a (large) monitor
I haven't had much luck with the adhesive on these inside cars (on the dashboard to attach electronics).
The high heat melts the adhesive into a fluid that spreads and makes a huge mess.
I wouldn't use this outdoors or indoors in any direct sunlight or where the temperature might be high.
I agree. The adhesive is not that good. I've used these in my attic but when I'm not up there and the ac is off it will get into the 80s up there. Using it for small tools on my bench...doesn't hold up

- Indoor security camera. I don't have to drill anymore.
- Couch legs. Used anti-slid pad before but didn't work. With this, it never moves again.
- Dining table legs same idea as above.
- Tool rack in a garage. I used it to hang light weight stuffs.Works well.
- PS4 camera on top of the TV.
If you're lazy like me, tons of ways to use it. In for 2.
Do you cut them to size? The one I got before was a massive size and I can't imagine using it for a camera unless you cut smaller pieces? Just curious. I bought 2 more as well.

Echoing what others have said. Very useful but the adhesive is usually weaker than the velcro. Do NOT use in sunlight or on surfaces that get more than warm.
Give 3M Command Strips a try. It's not velcro, though. If you need to remove the rack from the wall repeatedly, they are not right for the job.
Use multiple of the large strip (holds up to 16lbs) and the rack will stay put.
3M Command Strips are also removable (one-time-use) from painted drywall without marring the paint. Installation is very finicky though--you have to follow the instructions perfectly for the strips to work as designed.
Usually the industrial strength has two sides of hard plastic that interlock and the regular strength one has one side hard plastic one side soft fabric/felt.
Does anyone know which version this is.
I think you might be talking about 3m dual lock?

I ended up using the first one to mount a rack for dust pans, mops etc but it has fallen off the wall twice. 😩
