If you must buy this make sure the cable fits into the box without having to force it or being wiggly. Do not buy these if you will be connecting/disconnecting regularly - high probability of not getting one of those connections right and encountering the click of death.
Before use run a reasonable write to entire disk test that will most likely bring out early death tendencies if any. Don't sit on the drive without using it for close to 30 days and then cry cannot return the drive to Amazon if it is DOA.

1 is connected to my Xbox and the other is taken with me on the road. Both are going strong.
The Xbox one only gets disconnected (both ends) when I take it on the road. The other one gets disconnected and reconnected constantly. Neither one has shown any signs of failing.

Don't know when they switched the connector/cabling but the currently available ones are crap. You will find many reviews where people bought on previous experience a while back but were disappointed to see them failing. I think the drives themselves are fine but the connectors are integrated with the drive.
