The U7G listed here is far superior in almost every way to any U6 model. 120hz refresh instead of 60 and better local dimming

This has gone down as low as $599.99 before. The new U7H is coming next month (already released in Europe), that's why they're trying to clearance this as high as possible. IF and possible IF there's stock left, it will be $599.99 by next month.

Edit - The new U7H does come with the new ATSC 3.0 tuner, 2 Years warranty vs 1 year, i don't know of local dimming zones etc. I would recommend u wait until black friday, about 3 months left.

I think we will have to wait for the real testing to happen on the u6h to know the measurable differences between the latest u6h and last year's u7g.

Yes the u7g has 120hz and this is 60hz, but if you are interested in other metrics like brightness, viewing angle, response time, etc. - they have been measured on other sites but yet to be verified on the u6h by rtings.

rtings has begun their testing on the u6h https://www.rtings.com/tv/suggestions

They doing the same tests on these TVs under the same conditions, so once they are done we can truly do an apples-to-apples comparison of the u6h vs u7g.

One thing we know it doesn't have is Mini-LED. That is reserved for the U8X series and up this gen.

For the $$, this model offers a phenomenal panel. Blacks are black, colors pop, brightness is more than enough. Whites are a bit too bright, just use custom and take the contrast down a bit. Motion sucks and it can be glitchy at times, but that's standard for any Chinese budget TV. Disabling most apps gets rid of the glitches and sluggishness for me, I just use it as a dedicated YouTube and gaming TV and I have no real complaints.

4k/120 isn't perfect, they keep trying with firmware updates but the chipset just can't do it. If you need that, look elsewhere.

If you want an 85". I think 75 is my absolute limit. I have a 65 now. My buddy has a 75 and it's REALLY big, thought it was an 85. Course this also depends how big your house is! 75 feels to me like it takes an entire wall...
Idk. I have a 75 inch in living room upstairs but I like it because of one connect box keeps it tidy up.
