High quality, easy to play Ibanez miKro Series GSRM20.
By MARK W.
I'm recently retired and a beginner with the base. The Ibanez miKro Series GSRM20 was just what I needed to get started. The short scale is better for stiff fingers, and I found it quite easy to play. The quality is very good for this lower priced guitar, and it came mostly set up, needing only a few tweeks. I recommend this product to others, especially older folks with arthritis.

Im a guitarist that just took up bass (easy to pickup, hard to master) i was having trouble with my full sized music man, so i bought one of these for 200$ amazing deal and easy/fun to play for that price. An absolute STEAL at 139
Ah yes, all short scale instruments are a grand conspiracy by the manufacturers to scam children (and sometimes adults of short stature) into buying instruments that they can actually play comfortably.
Sarcasm towards this person aside, this is a great bass especially for the price. I paid $180 3 years ago and have been happy with it ever since.
The Mitchell MB100 short scale bass is on sale at Musician's Friend for $109.99 in various colors (the orange is wild!). Mitchell guitars are made by Cort, who also makes Ibanez.
And I love my GSRM20. I have the walnut. I call her "Lil Nutty".

My daughter's first bass guitar when she was 7. She also played the 5 string which had both jazz pickups. She also played the ESP equivalent 5 string short scale. That one just had a Pbass pickup. Fantastic quality for the price. We paid $179 for the 4 string and $199 for the 5 string about 8 yrs ago.
These aren't just for kids but for someone wanting a short scale. These are fun to play, sound fabulous and can definitely be used for gigs.
A+++ deal!

I own one of these, bought it used from guitar center a while ago. Played out with it once, played it for fun a bunch ... and I actually just got it retuned/strung/etc. for $80.
My wrists are a bit messed up and this is the only bass size that's comfortable ... $140 new for one is a great deal!

I have one of these and really like it. As a guitarist, it's great having the bass with a similar feel so after I record a riff on guitar, it's easy to lay down the accompanying bass track. I swapped out pickups for Dimarzios and it sounds and plays great now. This is a good price for an Ibanez bass.
mine arrived today. it was shipped out of the same state I am in so it only took 1 day. overall I am happy for the price. I wish the rosewood fretboard was a little darker to match the blackout look, but nothin a little lemon oil cant fix. it is very comfortable to play, it is my first Ibanez and first bass, but I have been playing for over 15 years. now I am looking at the micro guitars because I am obsessed with junior sized guitars lately. I am really loving the super flat radius of Ibanez instruments it is very easy to play even if you dont shred. ive mostly played vintage/fender style instruments my whole life and I am slowly transitioning to flatter fretboards.

I don't really have any complaints … one pencil sized blemish on the headstock that is really no big deal and not worth sending back over. Overall, it was set up very nicely from the factory … I'm definitely going to be putting flat wound strings on. Very comfortable and super light, light enough to hold up above your head with one hand. I hope to have it for many years to come. It plays very nicely for any guitarist it should be an easy transition. It's going to look very nice being played or on a stand. Great buy
Don't know the exact quality comparison, but musicians friend also put the Sterling Music Man basses back on sale starting at $250. Fyi. I found them looking these up.
