FWIW Amazon has it for $999... Could see a PM...
Give me a dumb monitor. I'll change the parts like a Roku stick that go obsolete in a couple years, instead of leaving vestigial and useless software, making things clunky at best, and and if IOT, much worse, gaping and neglected security flaws for the remaining life of the product.
This happens nowadays on everything from TVs to trucks to toasters to thermostats. It's the convenience versus security paradigm, and manufacturers aren't letting the consumer decide, it's almost impossible to find a non smart anything nowadays.
My dryer sheets insist on getting on my wifi to soften and dewrinkle my clothes properly.
Hyperbole, but you know what I'm saying.
Unlike my Vizio from long ago that completely abandoned the Via or whatever. Most of us have an assortment of external boxes just waiting for the right TV, this one handles my old Nvidia Shield like a pro. It's nice to just say "hey google, turn off Sony"
I can't complain too much since I got my 65" for $920ish on Prime Day.
The feature is already available on Chromecast with Google TV and coming to smart TVs soon. The company has also made under-the-hood tweaks that should reduce the number of errors users see when attempting to install new apps. Lastly, there's a new automated process that will free up space on your device so that you can install more apps https://www.engadget.co

According to Rtings review:
CONS
OLEDs are prone to permanent burn-in.
Doesn't get bright enough to fight intense glare.

Ex one of my 2 open box Best Buy's are still going strong and works perfectly for 99% of tv/movie watching. Bought it with LG burned in 5/2018 for $735 open box floor + $189 5 yr warranty that covered burn in.
