FYI...Bought this same model last time this was on sale for $34.98 to replace one I had from Costco. This one worked better than the one I had from Costco. I did start having problems with the lid not closing. After watching it move and tinkering with the lid, I noticed that the lid was just having trouble closing. The lid hinge was rubbing on the left side too much to let gravity bring it down. So I just put some plastic safe lubricant on both sides of the hinge, that rubs the lid to the top, and has fixed the problem..At this price, I'm thinking of getting another one..
So if you have this trash can and start to have trouble with it closing or becomes erratic, lubricate the left and right side of the hinge that rubs against the trash can top.

Good price, crap product with absolutely zero support and a worthless warranty.. It will stop working... it is just a matter of when.

Been on slickdeals a bunch of times for cheaper. Lot of complaints about the lid mechanism but I think they're all the same. Decent price and been wanting the stainless steel so I bought one if it sucks will return

The Insignia ones are better. Expect this one to break down within a few months of moderate use. That being said, good price nonetheless. Just limit your expectations.

I do not have the problem yet, but thanks for the tips.

My insignia ones do not last more than 6 months before the lids start to have problems

Thanks OP I almost bought one last week for $38 I believe. In for one. If I like it and they become cheaper again like some are saying in the comments I'll buy more 🙂

Just don't buy it.

I've had one for over one year. No problems to report. The automatic lid works very well and does a good job at containing odors.
