Does it get unlocked automatically over the Tracfone app that's on the phone or do I have to call them ask for unlock codes?

Thanks. Meaning cancel the service after the first month. Wait about 30+ days.
I'm afraid Tracfone might refuse the request due to non-subscriber/customer status.

Iphones auto unlock after 60 days but Android need 2 codes to be entered that tracfone will email you when the unlock is requested after 60 days

No need to cancel. It's prepaid so once your first month is done, you just don't need to renew service. You have to wait exactly 60 days.

And you don't need to contact them. Just go the unlock page [tfwunlockpolicy.com] and put in the IMEI or phone number. They will send an unlock code to your email with directions. Very easy.

Does it have tracfone bloatware that will persist even if I unlock and use on another carrier? Anyone try to root this phone to remove bloat if there is any?

Yes. It's a tracfone specific model that is bootloader locked.
