Even with the battery life, I love this laptop. The screen is bright, large, immersive for its size. The 60hz aint much of a bother bc only very very old 3d games would be able to run over 60fps with this igpu.

Doing most tasks, the temps are around 50-60c. When you stress test the laptop for about 3 hours or so, I have seen temps as high as 89c, but that's playing starcitizen on the battery at top performance settings after 2-3 hours.

Gaming performance is about 1/4 - 1/3 greater than the 5700g. Its very comparable, but uses a lot les electricity for greater performance.

build quality seems fine. Its a solid piece of kit, but light, about 1.5lbs lighter than my 15.6" dell latitude e5570. My only complaint build quality wise is the touchpad. It just doesn't pick up some movements that I know my latitude would. like subtle swipes that just don't get registered. Could just be me getting used to a new touchpad.

Overall pretty stable. Did not get a crash after 2+ hours in starcitizen, and if you have any problems star citizen will eventually crash.

I am having slight bluetooth problems with my xbox elite pad....but frankly I have similar problems with my 5700g and steam deck (both on windows). The xbox elite v2 joypad just does not like connecting easily to windows and I don't know why. Other bluetooth devices have not had any problems.

the hard drive is really fricken fast. Was able to download and install about 600gb of games in maybe 30m or so, wasn't really timing it but the read/write speed struck me as very fast than what I was used to.

Any other more specific questions, please ask or check out my thinkpad post: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad...eview_and/

And finally, at 3% battery, total time from 90% to 3% per the test process listed above was 6 hours (ok, 5hr 59m).

The Thinkpad needs to think about it's battery :-P Otherwise this is a great spec. If it had a bigger battery and 2 in 1 form factor, I would have placed a order before typing this message :-)

I don't think there any ThinkPad 2-in-1 with bigger screen than 14". You need to look for Yoga 7 and 9 series for that. Battery size should have been been better but I think it can be replaced with the 86 WHr battery but need to do some more research on that.

Thinkpads are the best. I have had Every laptop under the sun, and you really can't beat the build quality of these things. And they keyboard is best in class for laptops. I currently have a nice Samsung that I got cheap, but if I didn't I would snatch this up.

Z13
Z16
T14s Gen 3
Thinkbook 13s Gen 4

I did a bit of looking around and it would appear that the 86 WHr batter could be swapped in. At least according to some reddit threads.

No USB4 shouldn't be a huge deal for this laptop. It is certainly kinda stupid for Lenovo not to implement it for a Ryzen 6000 laptop but the use case for the T16 is mainly for people who need mobility and a bigger screen so being able to connect to several 4k monitors is not a key requirement.

Yes. I just bought this computer 2 weeks ago, the last day of back to school sale, and it is compatible with the 86w battery (shows up in tue compatible list). This price is good, but mine was $1200 before tax, so i recommend wait for black Friday. I can answer any random questions u may have, made a thread in thinkpad reddit.

Honest question: What is your use case of 2 in 1 that is important enough to be a deal breaker?

Are you sure you got this model with the QHD screen, 32 GB, 2 TB ? AFAIK, this hasn't been lower than this. The wifi card is replaceable and not whitelisted, right ? What's the screen like ? Did you calibrate it ? Also, what's the link for your reddit thread ?

I have not opened it up yet, so cant tell you about the wifi card. I will open it up once I replace the battery for the 86w. The 86w battery is ~$100 and wont be available until the end of september.

Screen is gorgeous. I am too incompetent to calibrate anything, so its factory settings. But it pops. However, this screen sucks the battery hardcore. Gaming 1080p low settings get maybe 2.5 hours on battery...maybe (52.5wh battery). I think if i turn down the brightness will help a lot (windows is yelling at me about it), but its sooooo farking pretty!!!!!!!

My coupons btw were THINKBIGDEALS, BTS2022, and teacher discount. Then I talked to them and they lopped off another $100. Called the number, gave them my cart number and asked about battery stuff (exchanging for larger battery), they oculdnt help there, so I asked for a discount.

Thanks. It's annoying that the configurable model which has the larger battery does not have this screen as an option. It's also shady that they've just hidden the battery specs on the website. I think it was there a few days ago, but with awareness about it, they figured that it does not help them to list the battery size.

I think the 52.5w battery for a retail price $3200 laptop is really crazy, and is likely a dealbreaker for many. Even on battery saver just doing chrome/zoom on in the background, and the overall battery estimation life is around 5 hours (I have 52% battery left with a life estimate of 2hr 27m, screen is at less than half brightness and still usable/british).. Im testing with it now to see how far I can extend this, but this is basically the starting point.

Outside of the battery life, how is the other aspects of the laptop? Fan noise, system stability, build quality, etc. I also heard people having issues with Bluetooth disconnecting upon use.
