Even with the battery life, I love this laptop. The screen is bright, large, immersive for its size. The 60hz aint much of a bother bc only very very old 3d games would be able to run over 60fps with this igpu.

Doing most tasks, the temps are around 50-60c. When you stress test the laptop for about 3 hours or so, I have seen temps as high as 89c, but that's playing starcitizen on the battery at top performance settings after 2-3 hours.

Gaming performance is about 1/4 - 1/3 greater than the 5700g. Its very comparable, but uses a lot les electricity for greater performance.

build quality seems fine. Its a solid piece of kit, but light, about 1.5lbs lighter than my 15.6" dell latitude e5570. My only complaint build quality wise is the touchpad. It just doesn't pick up some movements that I know my latitude would. like subtle swipes that just don't get registered. Could just be me getting used to a new touchpad.

Overall pretty stable. Did not get a crash after 2+ hours in starcitizen, and if you have any problems star citizen will eventually crash.

I am having slight bluetooth problems with my xbox elite pad....but frankly I have similar problems with my 5700g and steam deck (both on windows). The xbox elite v2 joypad just does not like connecting easily to windows and I don't know why. Other bluetooth devices have not had any problems.

the hard drive is really fricken fast. Was able to download and install about 600gb of games in maybe 30m or so, wasn't really timing it but the read/write speed struck me as very fast than what I was used to.

Any other more specific questions, please ask or check out my thinkpad post: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad...eview_and/

And finally, at 3% battery, total time from 90% to 3% per the test process listed above was 6 hours (ok, 5hr 59m).

My coupons btw were THINKBIGDEALS, BTS2022, and teacher discount. Then I talked to them and they lopped off another $100. Called the number, gave them my cart number and asked about battery stuff (exchanging for larger battery), they oculdnt help there, so I asked for a discount.
Instead of haggling for that extra $100, I advise others to check for 8% CB offered on rktn (I have this), which is worth over $110 on the $1400 2tb ssd model here.

How low would this possibly get near the next new model release?

Not a huge difference, but TCB has 9% cash back currently.

Outside of the battery life, how is the other aspects of the laptop? Fan noise, system stability, build quality, etc. I also heard people having issues with Bluetooth disconnecting upon use.

I wouldn't be surprised if black friday price was $1k, but I guess it likely not getting much lower than that. New model of this won't release for likely year or so, this laptop just came out.

With normal usage at medium brightness, how much battery runtime you're getting? I know people are concerned about the smaller size but I have seen Ryzen 7 4th and 5th Gen laptops still pushing very capable numbers with similar battery size.

Based on the reviews of the P16s, which seems to be identical in specs to the T16, people are getting, at best, 5 hours of battery life. For some reason, this machine is heavily underperforming in battery performance.

Battery life is sadly the worst element kf this laptop. Max battery life entirely on battery saver with the 52.5w battery is about 5 hours (yea, completely on battery saver so screen is about 1/3ish brightness. I think if this had the 1080p screen battery life would be fine, but this monster is super bright super pretty and eats electricity like a hog. The 86w battery is compatable, and its $100 but not available until end of September.

Just as an example, I am sitting here at 73% battery, and the lenovo app and windows both say I have 2 hours left....ok now they say I have 5 hours and 40m left.......maybe these numbers are unreliable and I need to have this thing playing youtube until the battery dies...I never said I was good at this!

After playing around with it. Looks like the 2 hours was just a startup time, after 10 minutes now at 70% power it says 5 hrs and 5 minutes on performance, and about 5 hours 30 minutes on best power efficiency. I think these numbers are unreliable and I will try to find some time to do a youtube video power down test and see how long it takes....Likely wont happen until the weekend. Still, I can say when I was playing starcitizen on the battery at 720p, the battery maybe lasted 2.5 hours starting at 100%.

Thinkpads are the best. I have had Every laptop under the sun, and you really can't beat the build quality of these things. And they keyboard is best in class for laptops. I currently have a nice Samsung that I got cheap, but if I didn't I would snatch this up.
Thinkpad keyboards are the single thing I miss after switching from Windows to Mac laptops. Best keyboard for me on a laptop.

The bottom cover has "Magnesium" printed on it, but according to the spec sheet, it's actually plastic. I was hoping it was magnesium so I can dissipate CPU heat onto it using a simple thermal pad mod, but guess not Frown

Battery test is starting so will have some data soonish, but Based on my gut instinct/usage, the 84whr battery in my e5570 is equivalent in runtime to the t16 52.5w battery, about 4-5 hours depending on usage (and no gaming on the t16).

Ok so things have gone on long enough. Started at 90% due to battery saver in Lenovo options. Set to lower power mode from the beginning. Set the monitor to 50% (50% display brightness is similar to max brightness on 250nit monitor. Battery saver starts at 20% battery remaining. Youtube is playing constantly throughout test at full screen. 52.5w battery. 90% of battery to 10% battery took 5 hours and 35m. Final 10% windows 11 estimates lasts 41m or so with power saver on. Hopefully this gives u some idea of the battery life. 52.5w batteries suck, but this one not too bad. Will get the 86w battery bc i needs the length.
