Tempting, but unlock policy pretty sucks. In this case, I interpret the phone will be locked for 24 months - a huge hassle if you want to travel internationally without paying for their crazy high roaming fee.

Sucks for all the people that jumped on the iPhone SE deal. This is a much better value with mmWave, bigger battery, and better cameras.

Yep, which is very expensive if compared to buying an eSIM (only doable if you have an unlocked eSIM capable phone).

may I know what is the Amex phone benefit?
Free phone protection (basically insurance) if you use certain amex cards to pay your postpaid mobile bill for the phones with lines on that bill.

Don't forget to check your Xfinity Rewards prior to purchasing. For example, I have two rewards available now: "Earn $100 for adding a line — up to 5 lines" and "$100 back on an eligible Xfinity Mobile phone purchase." This could help really sweeten the deal.
I only have $25 back for phone purchase. You have gold rewards with them?

Ah, didn't realize there were differences in different levels. I have platinum rewards.

I see no discount available when choosing to update an existing line... can anyone else confirm?

For people that recently took advantage of the free Pixel 6a from XM, this is a good deal since you're already committed to 24 months so what's another month for a free iPhone 12 that can get good trade in value later.
Good point. I picked up 2 of those p6a's. I figure if I need to use one before the 24 mos is up, I can just pay it off and get it unlocked, otherwise they will be ready for me and my son in 2yrs' time. I also have an SE 2020 that will finally be unlocked in December, which I can gift to my daughter for her 1st phone. Maybe I can get one of these to give her in xmas '24? It may not be the latest and greatest, but I think it should be more than good enough for her even then. It basically comes to about $80 after taxes and monthly line charges for me to hold onto it for 24 mos. I really don't see a better/cheaper way to get a 'new' iphone for $80 even if it's a few years old by then?

Edit: One thought, if I go for this and then they do an iPhone 13 Free offer when the iPhone 14 comes out on Sept 7th, I'll be miffed! Maybe I should wait and see...

Xfinity increases the cost of internet plan (cable broadband) after 1 year. When that happens, ppl usually call them and they reset to the older price as a 'deal' for another year. Last time, they didn't find any 'deal' on my account and so I had to cancel my broadband and sign up again under wife's name to get new customer pricing.

I'd sign up for this promo, but the only thing I'm worried about is what if Xfinity does something similar again to my broadband rates? Then I'd either have to cancel the broadband line AND mobile line too (can't have mobile without broadband or cable), losing the phone credits and ending up paying for the phone - or bear with the increased cost of broadband internet for another 1.5 years because I'm locked into their mobile service due to this promo.

Anyone found a better way around this problem?

Port in required. New customers get 5 lines, established ones can do 10.
Can I pay nothing upfront to get the phone and then every month let the monthly credit to offset the bill?

Why would you have to cancel both broadband and mobile? You could just cancel the broadband.
you get charged an additional $30 PER LINE without Xfinity Internet

Xfinity will charge the tax of the iPhone at the front, which is more than $50 in the most of the states.

I forgot to check in Xfinity rewards before making the purchase. Chat Agents are horrible; they don't know about Xfinity rewards. Will I get the gift cards, or do I need to cancel and reorder? After placing the order, I enrolled for "Phone purchase" and "add a new line" rewards. My bad; I missed reading all the comments.
