These are not brushless, but for a drill and an impact driver, with 2 two amp batteries, a charger, and a lifetime warranty, I'm not sure you can do any better - especially if you're only looking for a homeowner kit or you just want a spare.

Home Depot has apparently added this kit to it's subcompact bogo deal. If you add the circular saw as your free gift, then the price of this kit breaks down to $67.09.

I'm with you bud. I see you have some very vocal defenders of this behavior. If my children are any indication the louder they are the more they are trying to convince themselves it is ok.

If this were a private sale and I was buying something from the "It's not fraud posters" I would bet dollars to donuts they wouldn't be cool with it if they offered me a deal like $40 each or 2 for $60 and I bought two only to tell them I wanted my $40 back for the first one. Promotions are based on stipulations of purchase. When you "hack" it you are breaking those stipulations of purchase; even if Home Depot doesn't stop you.
You don't know how the hack works. People returning or not picking up an item do not get the full price as if that item was purchased separately, they get a prorated price. That prorated price is established by Home Depot, which implies that they know this process is going to happen. If HD didn't want it to happen, their "stipulations" would simply be that you have to return everything or nothing.

I do know how the hack works. Your solution of return everything or nothing doesn't work for the method used where the second item is simply not picked up. If it helps in my example tell the guy you want the one for $30 instead of $20.

Also, their stipulations clearly state buy XY and get Z free. They do not say buy XY and Z and get XY for $67.12 and Z for $42.35.

Return fraud? Wtf are you smoking buddy. That's the GOOD shit!

Returning an unopened, brand new item isn't fraud.
People are weird and no longer understand what the word fraud means.

Again, if HD did not want it to happen it wouldn't. Everything would be treated as a single unit, regardless of the number of individual components, either shipped all together to home or store, and picked-up together and returned together if the buyer didn't want them. HD could easily choose to do so if it wanted to, the fact that it doesn't speaks for itself.

"They do not say buy XY and Z and get XY for $67.12 and Z for $42.35." They actually do say exactly that on the receipt. They show separate items with their adjusted price.

You get a response from Home Depot customer service that says they are cool with it and I will agree with you. You point to the fact that in order for their POS system to work the deal it applies a percentage discount across multiple items so as to not sell an item from inventory for $0.00 as proof, I won't.

Let me put this in terms even you can understand. If Home Depot didn't want it to happen, it wouldn't. They are 100 percent in control of the situation.

HD could easily prevent the hack by doing what Lowes does, i.e. represent a free item as actually free on the receipt/invoice. For whatever reason they have chosen not to do it that way so I can only assume it's in their interest. In addition, there is no verbage on the HD website about not returning promotional items for a refund. Nada. Not even "tut-tut".

You seem like someone who isn't persuaded by evidence, so I'm not sure there's a point to saying, this, but when Home Depot doesn't want people to be able to do the hack, they do in fact have a solution - they just offer the various combinations as individual bundles. There are a number of ryobi "free battery" bundles right now where instead of dividing the price between the battery set and the tool, they just sell the whole bundle for one price.

It's very kind of you to be so concerned about home depot though.

How incredibly naïve. I suppose that because they could run their stores like a prison commissary and choose not to that means they are also cool with it if I stuff a candy bar in my pocket and walk out the door too. They may be choosing to allow it to happen but that is not the same.

What an utterly moronic take. No one is stealing anything in this deal. In essence, a BOGO is basically half-off each item. You can sit around spewing nonsensical self-righteous moralization but there is absolutely nothing wrong with hacking this deal.
