The Milwaukee M18 Brushless String Trimmer delivers users more clearing power and a larger cutting swath than battery-powered competitors. The brushless motor was built and optimized specifically for trimming applications and provides up to 6,200 RPM. Paired with REDLINK Intelligence and an M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT battery, the trimmer provides efficient power delivery, providing users with longer run-time. The trimmer features high and low speed settings with a variable speed trigger. High-speed provides the power to take on demanding applications, and low-speed maximizes run-time while having plenty of power for grass trimming. The 16 in. cutting swath trims more grass in a single pass, which increases user productivity. The Easy Load Trimmer Head delivers an easy line loading experience and the ability to load up to 25 ft. of trimmer line in under 30 seconds. This cordless string trimmer is a part of the M18 System, which is fully compatible with over 200 solutions. This tool kit includes 1 M18 Brushless String Trimmer (2828-20), 1 M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC6.0Ah Battery (48-11-1865), and 1 M18 and M12 Charger (48-59-1812).

FYI this is the newer brushless non-fuel version. It's not compatible with Quik-Lok.

Just out of curiousity, does Milwaukee have 3 tiers for tools basically (i.e. brushed, brushless and fuel)? does milwaukee make brushed tools anymore?

Their brushed tools are slowly getting phased out but you are correct on the three tiered system. With Fuel being the best of course.

Why the thumbs down? I'm considering this, need a new string trimmer.

Edit: I bought this and it works very well. It seems lighter than the other battery string trimmers I looked at at Lowe's and Home Depot. No noticeable vibration, easily handles my suburban yard.

Edit 2: First time it worked great. Second time, after about 15 minutes it started vibrating hard, returned it to HD. Reminded me of an old MGB car I drove in college. After a road trip I could still feel the vibration for several minutes.

I bought this and returned it in the 30 day satisfaction guarantee window because I didn't realize it wasn't QUIK-LOK and whatever trimmer I get needs to replace my Ryobi pole saw attachment. I didn't give it a thumbs down but that's why I would. FWIW Project Farm on YouTube found this platform to be excellent though I don't remember which model was treated.
