Man, those who do the hacks are shady AF. I mean, shame on Lowes/HD for not putting processes in place to handle this like nearly every other retailer does, but the some people apparently don't care about the ethics of this.

Decent saw, crap stand, though i'm sure it's fine for the non-sliding dewalt saws. I wouldn't trust that stand with the sliders at all and I have first hand experience with it. The rolling saw is a much better product.

I read it just fine:
"I'm not saying I would do it but if they don't ask for the stand back it isn't that unethical, it is their own stupid fault."

And I responded, "that's not what ethics is".

Ethics - moral principles that govern a person's behavior or the conducting of an activity.

You know you're supposed to give back the free item when you return the paid item. Whether they ask for it or not is irrelevant. Being ethical means doing the right thing no matter what.

The saw I got was the DWS716 Type 20, so it's capable of getting the blade light upgrade, and ever so slightly different width than the DW (same throat cut though).

Didn't realize how good the last deal was until now. Got a miter saw for $200 last time and the upgraded stand that extends to like 16ft, for free

It was the single bevel DWS715 deal that came with the DWK723 free stand for $199. I personally wouldn't use the dual bevel hardly at all so wasn't worth another $150 for this deal. So yeah, we got a great deal for single bevel and better stand (DWX723) than this deal. This deal is a bit nerfed for sure with the smaller and non adjustable stand (DWX725B).
