Again, that's not how ethics works.
I think it is unethical for a company to charge 200 bucks for the exact same product that goes on sale for $100 every other week. To me that is unethical but not to you so I say again "what is unethical to one person is completely legit to another"

Except that's not how ethics works. If you know it's wrong, it's still unethical.

What is robbery to one person is a deal to another. Everyone values things differently.
The problem with addressing ethics and those preaching ethics on this site is that the definition of what is or isn't considered ethical can be interpreted and debated in a myriad of ways. There are countless books and college courses on the subject, including situation ethics, cultural ethics, and more. The topic is a complex one, as it is rooted in religion, philosophy, sociology, cultural mores, law, and more.

I laugh when people here admonish others for being unethical, because they are merely judging those based on their own values and interpretation of what is or is not ethical. Even worse, they are doing so typically with limited to absolutely no information at hand other than their own beliefs and biases.

Ideally, people here should just STFU about the topic, live their own lives as they see fit, and stick to the topic of deals. The reality is that the majority of people here are going to live their lives, act, and make decisions, whether "ethical" or "unethical," regardless of what someone else preaches here anyway. But we all know that everyone here and on the internet suddenly becomes an expert and authority on every topic known to humankind and beyond when they get behind a keyboard, so that will never happen.

So instead, this is what happens when a deal site becomes a soapbox for things other than deals. Annoying, isn't it?

This is a better deal. Better saw and far better stand with arms to support lumber.

You're welcome

Got the DWX73 stand with the DWS779. On the receipt it shows 2 separate item numbers. Stand has wording that it's free with a saw purchase. Then the miter saw is a separate line and has no wording on promotion. Do you think I'll have issues returning the miter and keeping the stand?
That's wrong. Don't steal

Seems highly unlikely you would be allowed to keep a $200 stand when returning saw.
Yes Lowe's has been alerted to those trying to exploit this mistake to steal a stand

I did it last time. They are separate items. Lowe's doesn't care because it's still a sale on their end
Trust me they care and will fix the mistake

Not the same stand. Better one with adjustable arms to actually support the lumber

This is not a great miter; contractors hate not having double bevel or non sliding cause they want the buy once cry once mentality

This is just for miter cuts but I suppose shadow guide isn't as great on this one

It's very clear you're uneducated about what ethics is though and you're just trying to justify your actions and viewpoints.

First off you didn't even read what I wrote because I said I probably wouldn't return the product just so I can keep the free item.

Second, you were probably browsing the internet and came across a new important sounding word --> 'ethics' and decided you wanted to use the word in a sentence just to show everyone how smart you are.

I read it just fine:
"I'm not saying I would do it but if they don't ask for the stand back it isn't that unethical, it is their own stupid fault."

And I responded, "that's not what ethics is".

Ethics - moral principles that govern a person's behavior or the conducting of an activity.

You know you're supposed to give back the free item when you return the paid item. Whether they ask for it or not is irrelevant. Being ethical means doing the right thing no matter what.

Some of you guys returning partial merchandise are costing everyone else money. It's almost like saying "I got this for free at my local B&M because I walked out the garden center door with it and nobody stopped me". That's called stealing MF.
