The Beyerdynamic velour pads are a must-have. The included pads are really comfortable, but the outer layer begins flaking off after about a year of regular use. Probably depends on how oily your skin is.
Honestly, if you buy these headphones and they sound off, it's because your ears are used to bad headphones.

It is irreplaceable for me. I got it at $79 too after Guitar Center's 20% coupon.
This is not for audiophiles.
Strictly for the audio engineers.
Sony came out with an improved version a few years back and that product failed.
I just can't see myself switching to another headphone.
