I'm interested in this deal because I've had success with Anker Powerline 2 cables and their warranty if one broke. Before I jump on this, why the thumbs down from multiple people?

They last only a couple of months due to design and their warranty basically means you get a free rental after the 1st replacement. If that's what you want and don't mind dealing with replacements then it's fine. I have cables that last over a year, these are not built to last.

Why do the make 10 ft long cable like this? It is much cheaper and environment friendly to have 1 ft, 3ft and maybe one 6 ft cable.
Maybe, just MAYBE because not everyone is within 1'-6' away from a plug and may need to use their phone while charging. A truly crazy concept to grasp I know. I'm sure your type would fully charge a portable battery and then use a 1' cable and think they're saving the environment in this case but some still prefer a plug and can do math.

basically that the only thing that distinguishes these from the countless others that are cheaper on amazon and ebay is the brand name, and the resultant warranty. however, at the $20 here you could probably get two or three times as many random-branded cables, which would probably last you a correspondingly-similar amount of time as the three in this deal.
so, there's some math there with dealing with customer service, waiting for a replacement cable even if it is free, contributing to e-waste with the cheaper cables that may or may not last as long, etc.
hope this helps! me personally i've had just as much bad/good luck with random branded cables (that still look high-quality, not like, dollar store-type stuff) as i have with brand name ones (or even ones that come with my phones)

i do have a bunch of anker products but when my 5 port charger stopped working, i couldn't get a replacement or repair because it was only an 18 month warranty

The lifetime only applies to their power line USB cables. Nothing else they have would be a lifetime warranty

You're thinking of the wrong cable. These Powerline II cables are legit and don't break after a few months. Hell, these cables are rated higher than Apple OEM cables.
