Exactly what I did. Found a LAS-SAN to be the cheapest R/T flight. And I'm flying in at 9:00am, fly back at 10:05am. Hopefully that's enough time to find the gate (LOL actually it might be the same exact plane just going back to vegas.) Total price $72.36 (and I had some old flight credit for $57) So basically for $15 bucks of my own money and about 4 hours of my time I'll get the Companion pass! Score

Log in to your Southwest account. It should show that you registered for the promotion under My promotions. Fly by 11/17/22. You should receive email around 11/20/22 that says "you earned Promotional Companion Pass!". You can book your flights between 1/4/23 and 3/4/23 any time but you can't add your companion to your flight until 1/4/23. If your flight is sold out by the time you add your companion their customer service can change your flight to a similar one at no charge. This happened to me when I earned this 2 years ago.

No, you would need to activate the promotion, cancel those flights, rebook those flights today (with funds from the flights you just canceled) and fly between today and 11/17/22.

Great deal.

I have a destination wedding in Honolulu in Fed. I booked a RT to Denver for $177 for Oct.

Can rebook the HNL flight in January and bank/save my previous ticket costs if it proves $$ advantageous. SWA credits now do NOT expire.

Can also take additional trips Jan - Mar with wife for one fare.

I saw the comment about using the companion pass for your kids. But can my wife and our daughter book a ticket and both get the companion passes? And then can my son and I fly as companions to my wife and daughter?

Essentially are minors eligible to receive a companion pass?

No age limits. The person who earns the companion pass can assign whoever to be their companion.
