Key Features:
- Precision Shear Forstner Bits feature double-ground, razor-sharp serrated edge that slices throughout the rotation of the bit for less splintering and chipping, producing flawless flat-bottom holes. In light of all the fakes I've gotten, I'm done ordering anything name brand from Amazon. They shipped me a fake specialty tape measure a year ago. It wasn't even in the units it was supposed to be in. But the part numbers matched, so Amazon sold it.
Freud is good stuff. Their Forstner an router bits are worth a hefty premium. But no way I'd pay the 'Zon a penny more than I would for a Harbor Freight special, 'cause there's a good chance that's what they'll send you. Bauer bits painted red.
Don't want to pay $50 for a set of authentic Jorgensen clamps? That's ok, you can get an almost exact replica made by chinese supplier XUNANCY for $12 shipped (and don't forget to select the $5 coupon with it).
Think you're getting a new in box 1TB Western Digital blue hard drive? Nope, you got a shucked drive from an external hard drive enclosure and it was still sold by amazon. Need to get it covered under their warranty after 11 months of use? Nope, your warranty is now null and void because the serial number doesn't match the purchased item.
//ask me how I know all of this.
By the way, Freud 16pcs drill bit set for $175 does sound very legit, i'd just inspect it fully and make sure it is legit before you go using them.

Honestly I think the odds of a counterfeit are low here - pay close attention to the cutting edge of the bits and compare to the pictures. These wavy style bits are not common and superior. As long as the cutting edge looks the same, I think you're good.

I bought the best HF had, Titanium Nitride gold set $89, and each bit made about 5 cuts in hardwood.
Then I got the Woodriver from Woodcraft, it was even worse.
Finally learned my lesson and got the Freud.
It would have been cheaper to just get the Freud in the first place

The freud bits i have are basically the cheapest bits you should buy if you actually want working bits, even for just a single project.
Forstner bits aren't why people aren't rich. Stagnating wages over the last 40 years is why. This feels like an avocado toast millennials rant
Edit: Apparently if you're under 30, you are now a boomer! Insanely smart people responding, anyone deciding should really trust their opinions.
Keep the comments coming! The absurdity here never ends when someone says anything other than BUY BUY BUY!! xD
