Good price, and I am a Costco fan but the waiting time for tire service at Costco can be long. Remember that you have to go back for periodic rotations, and the time adds up. PM Costco at a tire store and get faster service.

I just had Discount Tire price match a set of Cross Climate 2's. It came out cheaper at Discount Tire. The out the door price was I had added to the cart, before any taxes even applied. I also used this a few months back for the BFGoodrich deal, same deal with matching the cart price. This included labor, taxes and all other fee's which saved another $100 or 2.

This is normal promo for Michelin tires at Costco. Taking a look at the prices just now and they've gotten more expensive...dang inflation!

Seems there might have been a bit better tire deal than this at Costco for Black Friday last year, but of course no way to know for this year.

Make sure to take photos of your wheels before install. They scratched every single wheel after install. :/
Americas tire really screwed up my wheels on a Mazda six about ten years ago. Silly me didn't check them after the install. It was fairly subtle, and I didn't really notice till weeks later when brake dust started to fill the scratches where it became very noticeable.

I do that (show Costco's final price in my cart online) every time at Discount tire…they always beat it by a little. Plus service is usually way faster. And always free flat repairs and air checks.
Even paying extra for road hazard which is free at Costco?

I have the same question. No one seems to address it. Dont understand the love for Discount Tire. It took 1.5 hours the last time I had my tires installed at Costco. Not the end of the world.

Collecting a few notes from prior threads:
(1) Costco has a 5-yr road hazard
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=156044974&postcount=34

Is this still accurate?

(2) "but you should beware of their new warranty replacement policy. If they have to replace a tire, you get a credit for what you paid for (discounted price, let's say 140) but calculating what u need to pay, the price they use is the current price(180). Since current price for 1 tire is never discounted, u will end up paying the difference ($40)in a warranty repair. On top of it they charge a installation fee. I recently had to pay $65 on a $170 tire warranty replacement 4 months after I bought them at Costco."
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=149765878&postcount=25

Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?

(3) Road hazard only gives you protection for just the tire that goes bad. As many people are looking at the CC2s for SUVs with AWD, note that even if you have road hazard, you still have to replace the rest of your tires at the same time at your own cost (unless they are barely worn) to not damage your tranny. I don't know how Discount Tires road hazard works, but I bet its the same. So I think this is not really anything that is better or worse between different tire shops. Its just a reminder.

I got the MICHELIN DEFENDER LTX from Costco for my truck and my SUV and they're both absolute SHIT. I had to replace my truck tires after 30K miles and for my SUV after 35K. They wear like shit despite balance and rotation every 5K. And very very noisy. And service at Costco is absolute SHIT as well.

2.5 on the review rate https://www.loc8nearme.com/texas/...co/621547/

I went back to Discount Tire and switch back to BFG KO2's on both my truck and SUV. They had $200 off for Labor Day. These KO2 absolutely ROCK

How important is road noise to you? My wife's Rav4 sound insulation is terrible. Just curious if the noise is an advantage you considered.

Since about 20 years ago I stopped buying brand name crap.

All the tire problems I ever had (and I had quite a few), splitting, bulging etc were all with brand name tires.

Never, not once I had a problem with a no-name tire in 20 years.

Since then I buy whatever the cheapest stuff Discount Tire has. Literally the cheapest.

Buying a $150 tire when you can have a $50 one from DT is downright stupid.

I'm sure all the "safety idiots" will crawl out out of their "safe bunkers" but unless you drive like a complete imbecile, whatever marginal performance gap there is between Michelin and some Nunaki Kabaki tire, it will not help you, ever. You're just wasting your money thinking you're "safer".

I've bought tires from Costco for the past 20 years. I've never had anything like that ever happen. I go in tell them what tires I want and they process the sale. They don't work on commission. I call BS on this.
I've been told by Costco they will only install tires that match oem sizes.

Costco in the sf bay area seem to have been out of stock of BF Goodrich (a Michelin owned brand) Sport Comp 2 tires for over a year now. At least when I try to check stock online. Anyone else?

Lifetime balance and rotation yes, but install? Not a chance around here.
Also tire repair is included. Had a flat from nail and they plugged the hole

Wow, my dealership was HUNDREDS more. I literally LOL'd at their price, and my service rep was all grins.
Even my service adviser was shocked at their low price, but I guess it was a carryover sale from Labor Day.

It worked out for me because I have an EV and I wasn't sure how America's Tire would service it and its 21-inch wheels without damaging them.
