Collecting a few notes from prior threads:
(1) Costco has a 5-yr road hazard
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=
Is this still accurate?
(2) "but you should beware of their new warranty replacement policy. If they have to replace a tire, you get a credit for what you paid for (discounted price, let's say 140) but calculating what u need to pay, the price they use is the current price(180). Since current price for 1 tire is never discounted, u will end up paying the difference ($40)in a warranty repair. On top of it they charge a installation fee. I recently had to pay $65 on a $170 tire warranty replacement 4 months after I bought them at Costco."

Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?
(3) Road hazard only gives you protection for just the tire that goes bad. As many people are looking at the CC2s for SUVs with AWD, note that even if you have road hazard, you still have to replace the rest of your tires at the same time at your own cost (unless they are barely worn) to not damage your tranny. I don't know how Discount Tires road hazard works, but I bet its the same. So I think this is not really anything that is better or worse between different tire shops. Its just a reminder.
2.5 on the review rate https://www.loc8nearme.
I went back to Discount Tire and switch back to BFG KO2's on both my truck and SUV. They had $200 off for Labor Day. These KO2 absolutely ROCK

All the tire problems I ever had (and I had quite a few), splitting, bulging etc were all with brand name tires.
Never, not once I had a problem with a no-name tire in 20 years.
Since then I buy whatever the cheapest stuff Discount Tire has. Literally the cheapest.
Buying a $150 tire when you can have a $50 one from DT is downright stupid.
I'm sure all the "safety idiots" will crawl out out of their "safe bunkers" but unless you drive like a complete imbecile, whatever marginal performance gap there is between Michelin and some Nunaki Kabaki tire, it will not help you, ever. You're just wasting your money thinking you're "safer".

It worked out for me because I have an EV and I wasn't sure how America's Tire would service it and its 21-inch wheels without damaging them.
