Thanks for the heads up … I'll be returning
If you don't have larger batteries for the more power hungry tools (Impact, saws, etc) then yes, most power hungry tools will be weak with a 1.5ah battery. These will cut composite decking with little issue running a 3.0 battery.

The tool is not weak, the battery is, so if you don't have more power than a 1.5ah battery, then I wouldn't start buying M12 products.

I've had this saw for years and has served me well as a DIYer, if you're going to use it everyday professionally then get an 18V brushless version. For the occasional cut at home, this is perfect (good blades and bigger battery make a huge difference)

Probably too late for you, but there's an adjustment screw hidden under the plastic cover for setting the proper tension on that lever.

Exactly! It seems many users of this tool don't know that piece of information. Milwaukee should already preset the set screw properly, but having to make a minor adjustment doesn't make a tool bad. With that said, I'm planning to change the foot on mine to the Collins and use it for coping.

I'm confused! How are you getting this deal for $59.50. When I go to Home Depot it shows $119.00. What am I missing?

Uh, I think they are just returning or cancelling one of the items. 😯They call this "hacking".

I use it to finish out corner cuts after using a circular saw. Also, it does a great job cutting holes in tiles or fiber cement sidings.

Exactly. This tool has its place and serves well for the right purposes because it's light and easy to use. Sidings is an excellent example, while your up on a scaffold and need a quick notch, and this little bad boy practically fits in your tool pouch. Should you buy this if you plan to own one jig saw? I wouldn't. I tend to think of this as a specialty tool which makes better work of select, specific tasks much more efficient opposed to the beefier big brothers of 18v or corded, which power through it all. If I had to own only one it would be a cordless 18v. I have this 12v, an 18v and a corded Bosch and the 18v sees most use these days.

The hacks are very YMMV, I first get the "Please make sure promotional items have the same delivery or pickup options and try again"

So then I do both in-store or online, and the store will not let me return the one item. I have to return both items. Consider yourself lucky if your local store allows you to do this hack. Three local HD's in my area gave me the story.
Yeah, the in-store returns are hit or miss for many folks.

However, if you can float the CC expense, you should be able to select one store for one item and hit the "change" button inside the 'ship to store' option for the other. Select a DIFFERENT store. Then just don't go pick up the unwanted item. It automatically cancels after a week (though I have had to reach out to customer service via chat to handle one that seemed to still be open despite being past the pickup window).

Go to another store, that's just a Johnny do-gooder cashier thinking they're stopping you from a criminal act (much like the people who used to always come into the hack deal threads and complain about how immoral they were). They literally ring up with "max return value" on the receipt, HD doesn't care if you return them, because selling a tool at discount while not violating their MAP pricing agreement with Milwaukee beats selling no tool at all. I'd imagine they've made this incrementally more difficult only to assuage Milwaukee from getting on them about it.

Came here for this. I have a brushless Ryobi 18v but love the M12 form factor but if this is underpowered it will just collect dust.

The real question is: is the xc6.0 battery worth $60 hacked? That's not TOO bad a deal just to grab the battery. Might be better hacks out there for it though...haven't looked.
At my Home Depot they sell everything on one receipt if you return any of the items they adjust and prorate the items to what it is purchasing separately, am I missing something to get a hack?

Just below the price there is an option to select a 'Free' tool. Choose the battery for $119, then add it and the jigsaw to your cart. HD will pro-rate the items, so they will be will be $59.50 each.

I find it easiest to just return the unwanted item to store for a refund of the pro-rated price. In the past this also worked in store (assuming both items are carried in store), I haven't tried a while though.
