At my Home Depot they sell everything on one receipt if you return any of the items they adjust and prorate the items to what it is purchasing separately, am I missing something to get a hack?
that IS the 'hack', simple pro-rated pricing.
I've had other stores pro-rate things too, but is usually when adding a coupon or other sales discount that gets applied across all items on the receipt.
Yes. 60 is street value. I sold 2/110 yesterday but would have sold 2/120 pretty quick. If you do Kroger fuel point this is a good one to buy 250 in HD gift cards, buy this 2x, sell it all and you'll probably make 80 and have 1k fuel point as they're 4x now
Underpowered jig with weak battery, might be ok for thin materials and plywoods but will drain quickly with that set up in hardwoods or thicker wood.
And yet I find this jigsaw is perfect for anything that's not thick or hardwood. It works for 2x pine and ply all day. I'd only consider it underpowered if you're expecting 15a corded juice out of the thing. Great tool, and $60 is a straight up bargain for this package.

Well stated.
It is important for us all to remember that the tool needs to do the job we want it to do. If it does, then that tool is ideally powered. If we want future expansion potential, so be it. But, if a tool/camera/car/phone/whatever gets the job done, paying more for unneeded power/features/looks/etc may simply not be worth it.
On the other hand, if "time is money" because you are in the trades and use the tool hours/day, then perhaps saving 20 seconds per cut, having a cleaner surface (less sanding), being able to drive 5 extra screws per minute, saving 1 lb of weight to lower fatigue etc, could really make the added costs worth it.
I have been falling into the trap of trying to "find the best deal on the top-tier items". This is well-intended because I want to future-proof since I don't know if I am going to be building some larger projects in the future. However, I have to remind myself that my applications are NOT professional in nature and I could stomach a little extra fasten time to save $150 on a kit. (of course, typing these replies probably equates to more time savings, so maybe just buy the darn things as needed and stop looking for deals.....but that's why we're on slickdeals, isn't it? The thrill of the deal hunt? )

I have both the 12 volt and the 18 volt version. I don't use the 12 volt at all anymore. You're exactly right.
