There is no better "fan" than a Vornado circulator - it really will pull the air into the room leading to less use of heat and A/C
That being said there are models to avoid like any company in the USA:
1. Vornado's high end luxury line with chrome/brass/etc accents
2. Vorando's tower fan
3. Any personal or desk Vornado fan
Every single other model, again, you won't find a better fan.
People complain about the motor going out on Vornados. I have two in locations that need air pushed and run them literally around the clock unless I am out of my house. Both have been running amazing for last 3.5 years.
Vornado has 5 and 10 year warranties as well - if it breaks, call/chat with them and be polite. They will ask you to cut the cord with scissors and take a pic of the cut cord with your serial # on your unit and in less than a week you will have a brand new fan sent out to you. I cant believe more people havent abused this probably dont know about it but it's one of the best warranty's in the game for any product.
TLDR: Buy a Vornado, just not this one or the tower one

But, really Costco Woozoo is much better, quieter and moves much more air.
First, I got the woozoo fan last year for my study as it got direct evening sunlight and since I am the only one in study, I bought woozoo because I like the design, it's rotation and above all it was running on high speed in Costco and I found it very quite compare to really high price fans like Varnado.
Been using it for a year in my study and very happy, it still runs quite I don't even use it on high speed.
This is the second summer.
Then, this year as soon as they put on clearance I got two more, BTW on clearance I saw some 15-20 fans after I purchased I told my friends the same day and before he reached the next day it all cleared, it's really that good.
I got both in $24 well worth it.
I used now one in my master bathroom, one in the garage. When you go out of the hot shower and feel the quiet breeze of this fan you will love it.
If you can get it on clearance for $25 just get that.
