Demand is incredibly weak, there is new oversupply with artificial restrictions by Nvidia to keep prices high, the used market is flooding with miner gpus, AMD competition is stiffening, all while 4XXX series is about to drop and drown everything else.
Given that, paying $500 for a 3070 is ludicrous. I'd pay $299. Anything more than that and you're likely looking at a value retention bloodbath in short order.
Also, f*ck Newegg

In the end, every bit Nvidia drips the prices of these cards lowers the value of the 4 series. They are not going to sell a 3070 for $300.
I bought a 3080 ti a few weeks ago that was downvoted twice and here we are weeks later and the prices are higher than I paid.
If you want to wait and see what happens because you aren't worried about it, more power to you.
But if you are waiting for simply a $300 3070, IMO you will be disappointed. Prices will come down more, but not enough to justify waiting months.
Totally agree with this. The high end cards that are over $600 are typically going to keep going lower in prices. The mid range is where the prices will be stubborn because margins are low. YES, they deserve to take loses. But I'm trying to make it apparent that the manufacturers have a better chance at controlling mid range than the high end because they over manufactured high end GPUs (3090 Ti, 3090, 3080 Ti, 6900XT). They have more issues with those as most gamers buy mid range and lower end. Holding out from buying any GPU $450 and lower will just be wasteful patience because they're not going to drop in price dramatically. waiting months for a $50 savings is time you could have had with a new card to game with. If you want to hurt Nvidia, then buy a used card. Keep in mind, a lot of miners used the 3060Ti because it was power efficient with the amount of hash it can produce. If people don't want to end up with a miner card, go AMD as their cards have dropped the most in price. If you have to go Nvidia, just pick up the 3060Ti FE as that is a low margin card and priced to be competitive/keep people away from AMD. They're not making much profit on it. If you are aiming to get a high end card like the 3080/6900XT, then definitely hold out longer until the used market screws over the retail sector.

I suggest you look up how Newegg treats their customers.

Yet day after day, week after week the prices keep going down, and the 40 series aren't even here yet. Guess who's been right all along!

If anyone in SoCal doesn't want the 27" monitor. I'll take it off your hands for $100. DM me
What are reasonable prices on the AMD Card I'm looking at the 6800XT and above. Do you think these will be lower than the Nvidia 370, 3080 cards, will AMD lower their prices to outsell Nvidia??
I'd buy again if they were a good value, but they aren't. Juvenile meaningless BS like yours contaminates these forums. Despite that, I've continued posting, and have continued being right, because it isn't magic, it is reality.
You can't help those that won't help themselves.
