For others, I've got an Insta360 One X2. It's great, but it's very different from a GoPro. The stitching is impressive, but imperfect. Great for capturing 360 videos for direct upload or for when you want to select the target and convert to a regular video. However, you'll get lens flare as the camera moves, and some artifacts around the edges of the lenses. So, if you want to shoot a video where you're focused on a single thing, a regular GoPro will give superior results.
For anyone curious about 8-bit vs 10-bit and what 10-bit can do for your final product, BH Photo Video made a good explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNy24_X
Just checked and I do have this Amex offer, and with its forward-facing screen, I may jump on this. Need to first see some reviews about the overheating issue that seems to plague these later models, though.

I have been looking at the X3 (rationale being I could use it for real estate virtual tours) and the DJI Action 3. Any reason to give GoPro another chance? I'd like to see how good the stills it produces are. I've never used an action cam for photos because the quality is so poor, but if they upped the sensor game, I would like that flexibility.
Maybe I'll just wait for BF and hope one comes down to $300.
I briefly had an 8, then got a 9. Sold it and got the 10 on this deal last year. Tempted to try that again to upgrade to the 11. The larger sensor sounds great.
Now that it the 11 comes with the 1 year subscription I wonder if they will allow me to trade this 9 in for a replacement because technically its broken. I was going to buy the 11 anyways.
Also, never update your firmware until well after it's been tested.
The One RS can do 360 and be a regular camera by changing out the lenses (or "mods" if you prefer to call them that...)
For what it is and the price, I think the One RS is better than these gopros but I guess there's some things that the GoPro has that might be better like the screen and other subtle nuances that I really don't care about that makes people really like it...
For those that have both (360 and action cam), do you find yourself reaching for one or the other?

Ultimately, I'll take better image quality over gimmicks any day. Unless you NEED 360 video, or you're proficient enough at editing to make it really worth your while, I'd stick to regular action cams. I'm currently trying to dissuade myself from buying the DJI Action 3...

Edit: Placed an order and looking forward to receiving it.
