How to check your local Wireless Advocates kiosk for inventory, assuming you have the item #. Unfortunately iPhone 13 256GB are OOS in my area but two different CostCo locations have iPhone 13 Pro MAX black and sierra blue in stock.

1) Call your local CostCo B&M [costco.com], press option 1, ask if they have item # in stock? If they don't, ask them to check the surrounding area. If you don't have the CostCo item # you could always just call the kiosk directly and ask them. If they provide you with an item # please update this wiki.
2) Assuming they say yes it's in stock and you want actual confirmation, call your local Wireless Advocates kiosk. To find their phone number, try a Google search [google.com] using your city and state.

So, my calculation for two phone 14s this year is:
Phone 1 = $719.99
Phone 2 = $719.99
Taxes $86.40 (6% sales tax)
Total = $1,526.38
Rebate = $630
Total = $896.38
If you assume 3 months of $20 per line plans ($180 total), your total out out pocket for two unlocked iphone 14 is $1076.38 (or $538.19 each).
why is that a requirement always? do they expect us to make babies every year around September?

Starting last year, they've been mediocre. Looks like that is continuing and will be the new norm.
Get the new line. Every single time my rebates have arrived within 30 days (I track it). I cancel the next day without issue. Many are saying you have to pay 2-3 months of the new line. I guess YMMV but hasn't been the situation for me ever.

I've been a Costco member for years and literally just about every brand I buy is cheaper at Costco. Occasionally I'll see a fruit or paper plates might be cheaper somewhere else, but its very rare. One example...I just bought a DeWalt shop-vac @Costco a month or so ago, it was $79.99. The exact same model @Home Depot was $149.
Add in the fact that the gas is usually 20-25 cents cheaper than any gas station around and my membership is usually paid for just in gas savings over the course of the year. I save about $3 with every tank fill up over any other station.

They cost more for things without a a brand-name. Ie: ACTUAL GROCERY. These are either 1:1 comparison, or the other store is actually higher quality
Milk is cheaper at Aldi ($3.69 for half gallon organic, vs $10.99)
Eggs are cheaper at my Asian grocery store ($2 gets you organic at other places)
Seasonal fruit is cheaper at my local supermarkets (esp apples of every variety)
Bananas are MUCH cheaper at Trader Joes (19 cents each vs 48 cents a pound)
The beef is higher quality (prime), however their chicken is too expensive for quality thats not stand out. You can do better than $1.49 a pound for whole chicken if you shop elsewhere casually.

Name-brand bread (wonder bread, etc.) cost more at Costco than at local supermarkets when considering the non-stop promos. English muffins especially
I run a small business and need alot of paper, tape, staples, etc. Those are not cheap at Costco. Their ink just sucks, period. However, they do have cheap pens when coupons come around.
Anything off-site and promoted by Costco (solar panels, blinds, water filtration, etc.)are not cheaper. Esp true for the blinds when they gave me an estimate
I have a toddler, with a second kid on the way, and while I still love Costco for their monthly promotions, those are usually for DISCRETIONARY things which just dont resonate with me as much since I no longer shop just for myself.
Yes, spaghetti sauce, ice cream bars, clothing, detergent, frozen food, etc can be cheaper there. But when you cook from scratch using grocery ingredients, those dont really add upto be a value.
The exceptions are diapers, formula, and the rotisserie chicken, which are MUCH cheaper at Costco. They got alot of my business during the infant years.
Nowadays, I muse over the possibility of cancelling my membership and sharing one with my parents. Their main pros:
- Stuff costs (mostly) the same regardless of supply issues
- Return policy. Nuff said here.
- Their "treasure hunt" deals for random (but very desirable) nonsense.
- CPG stuff and frozen goods (as you mentioned in passing...stuff like Tide, big-name snacks, junk food, chicken nuggets, etc.)
- Not ironically...cell phone deals, mainly because of the quick turnaround for the whole rebate, vs 24-36 month reimbursement. Free sim card (once upon a time) was nice. However, the lines are ridonk.
However, you get to an age where you just dont need anymore hard drives, sound bars, vibrating massage chairs, etc.
Regarding the gas...the advantage does exist, but its a bit of a wash because the line at certain times of the day can be 15 minutes or longer. Time is money. I actually go to Sam's club for gas in the rare situation that I need to...equally cheap and no one is there lol. But I dont need gas for one of my cars...and my daily uses very little if at all...
In short, Id recommend that you dont gaslight other SDers just reflecting on their experience. It is intellectually dishonest to call someone a liar, and then say right after that exceptions exist.
