it's not that people are scared, they just don't what to deal with the BS. the question you should be asking yourself is why do they need a CC number in the first place if you have already purchased the item.

2 things that I do that keeps me away from most of the BS: a) never give your SS unless it's government/employer related/credit related. b) never give a CC unless you are buying something from a reputable company with impeccable history, for everything else use a burner card.

remember to activate with a virtual credit card
shxt company would not let you cancel auto-pay and port-out easily.

I could cancel auto-pay before with the link their chat-bot gave me. But now you have to chat with a CSR. Long ago they should have a button for cancellation by yourself. They are hiding auto-pay cancellation deeper and deeper.

Does that work with the Costco Citi card? Under my account I searched "virtual" and it came up with FAQ, with the following:

However, clicking "view your Virtual Account Numbers" takes me to landing page to agree to terms and conditions, I do so, click Get Started, but then get an error prompt saying "Looks like something went wrong".
Doesn't work for any Citi cards that are Visa, only if they're MC.

I purchased a sim in store for cash $14.99. It's my 2nd line/data not main just too try it out. It's a good deal. 5gb a month is enough for me for tablet use. Customer service is bad so I wouldn't use them as my main service unless I went directly though the boost dealer and pay for it in store with cash. I wouldn't trust them with my CC debit info they will automatically charge you and they make it almost impossible to cancel I've heard. So don't buy the sim online because they require a CC and auto pay buying in best buy doesn't. It's a hassle but worth the drive. Otherwise it's a good deal. I'll use the 3 months then let it lapse/cancel I'm not paying $45 a month reg price for 5gb.

You couldn't be more wrong - I got charged, spent time on the phone with them and with my card company, had to have it reversed by my CC: and then they re-charged it and now I have to write some kind of documentation and try to get back two months of charges (full price) on a SIM I never could get to activate, so there's no number, no account - Just b--ch-ss BOOST charging me and charging me and charging me. I had to deactivate the card.
It's and effing nightmare. BEWARE BOOST. EVEN WITH A VIRTUAL CARD.

It won't be $45 a month reg price after this. The offer states:

For your first 3 months of service, 5GB plan for $5/mo. is billed for $15. After your first 3-months, 5GB plan is billed for $45 every 3 months. New customers only. 5G service requires compatible devices. 5G is not available everywhere.

Are you guys using a virtual CC at Best Buy too?
