have it, it's well made, fairly large and surprisingly light. unlikely you will step on it, but if you put any considerable weight on it the plastics axles will snap, i'm sure. but it has survived frequent kicks, falls down the stairs, tosses into toy bins, collisions, etc. the giant foam tires protect it for the most part. and it's made to run into and fall off of things, so quite durable compared to most r/c.

i also have the hot wheels r/c (the small ones similar in size to the die cast cars) and those break constantly. they go a lot faster and can only handle so many crashes before the gears wear out or become loose, or a internal wire gets disconnected. i get about 2-4 weeks out of those hot wheels but have never broken an airhog.

got them both on ymmv clearances at target for roughly $5-8. they both are similarly difficult to accurately steer (by nature, they will spin 360 if you turn them)

even though the air hogs is more durable, the kids played with the hot wheels a lot more because it goes on the hot wheels track and offers more different play options (turbo button, loops, jumps, track criss-cross collisions).

for $13, can't really go wrong. but if you are looking to for your kids who like cars, i would also highly recommend the hot wheels r/c that goes on sale for below $10 every so often on amazon or target. even at $20, i would repurchase those considering how much fun my kids had with them.

can it survive an accidental step on by adult because the kid leave it all over the place?

i have never run it to empty in a day of casual playing (will recharge after a week or so). other reviews mention 20 mins. i would guess longer but you get a pretty good amount of driving per charge in my opinion.

My kid had a ton of fun with it, but if yours is at all frenetic like mine when driving it, the internal plastic gears strip after a while and it makes a racket as they slip...

My kid has fun with it, for now. Battery last around 20-30 mins, depending on the usage - just driving it around runs longer, compared to the other circus acts it can do.

It will not survive an accidental/intentional step.

The video where the kids run over granny's face with the car is awesome. Probably better than the toy itself. Thanks for the laugh.
